I know that this may be a stupid question but hey it would be stupid not to ask. Once your hair is relaxed you should only be getting touchups and not relax the hair that is already relaxed ever? I have went to salons and they have massaged the relaxer through all my hair is that wrong and is that how you become overprocessed?

I don't believe there is any such thing as a stupid question...
The answer to both questions is 'yes'...

You should only touch-up the new growth. Sometimes underprocessed hair is processed again with relaxer, however. Re-relaxing previously relaxed hair can lead to overprocessing. Here is a website with useful tips:

You should only touch up the new growth. Overlaping will cause overprocessing and eventually breakage.
