Relationship Wisdom or B.S.?

Most men will attempt to rise to the level of the woman they are with.

Some succeed.
Some surpass.
Some fail.
Some won't even try.

Depends on the woman, her 'requirements/boundaries' and the man. :yep:

Interesting....

would this be true, or as true for women folk...:look:

Interesting question..............

My first thought is - No, I don't think so, and it's because in our society, men are expected to lead, and women are expected to follow.
For a woman, it's okay to be less educated, less worldly, and poorer than her man.
For a man? Not so much.

So, a woman can 'be pulled along' by her man, and no one will really give her a side eye.
A man cannot be 'carried' by a woman (in most non-dyfunctional circles!) and still be considered fully 'manly'.

Granted...

but I can also see woman limiting themselves b/c of the men that are coupled with...

Education, income, external appearances, leadership expectations aside.., other dynamics are at deep at play...

Invisible to the naked eye, ceilings exist..

Oh, definitely!! I didn't pull that from your earlier question - yes, I think most people are willing to sink to the lowest level they can feel comfortable at. :lachen: And for some women, they are willing to go even below that for the sake of a 'good man' :look:

So, yes, I think that women would be more likely to limit themselves to not 'threaten' their man, and men are more likely to uplift themselves to be on the same 'level' as their woman.

The question states: "A man can only raise to the level of the woman he is with."

I disagree. This statement is basically saying that all no-good men are that way because their women ain't **** either. How about you be a man for the sake of being a man and not have to wait for a woman to pull you up...

Your statement pretty much sums up why I would have to say it's relationship bullpies.
