These are absolutely beautiful. But those prices... Holie skamolies!!! Even the budget sticks!

These would make a nice gift for someone who's worth it... like me :lachen:

Yes some of them are up there in price but I figure the corkscrew ones aren't that expensive and it's an investment I won't have to buy cheap hair acc. all the time cause my thick hair breaks them.

I have tons of hairsticks mostly from www.longlocks.com and www.longhairloom.com. I haven't ordered from www.blueheronwoods.com yet, but I've been checking them out for months and will be ordering soon. Prices on all three sites are sorta comparable and quality hairsticks just cost alot, so I budget, save and go for the high quality stuff and when I rock those sticks in my buns, I get sooo many compliments that I ended up at brastrap last year 'cause I kept my hair in buns for almost six months! I just HAD to show off all my sticks every day and had no desire to wear my hair down. So they are well worth the investment for me. . .

I am currently sporting single braids right now and am REALLY rocking the sticks when I bun up my braids . . .

I think I am going to get some. I have always loved hair sticks, but I never knew where to find them... aside from the cheapie ones that Goody made (yuck).

So are the spiral ones better for thick hair?

That's what they're saying, the spirals secure the hair better. I'm going to try them and see. I mean I keep buying and breaking the cheap plastic, hollow ones. Besides it's hand-carved and sanded smooth. They have testimonials of people with WSL and beyond hair who use them fine.

I have sprial sticks as well as the straight sticks and I haven't noticed that the spiral holds significantly better than the straight ones. I think if the sticks are well made from quality materials (real wood or bone) than they will hold better because they're stronger and can withstand the greater pressure from longer/thicker hair. Now that I have braids and my bun is much thicker, fuller and bigger, I find that the longer sticks (straight and sprial) hold more securely than the shorter ones.

In fact, that's my excuse for buying more sticks, I NEED longer ones now that I'm in braids . . .
