Rave: Just Discovered Lacio Lacio, bye Salerm 21

I like lacio lacio better. Salerm always softened my hair, but left it feeling coated and not always straight. The lacio lacio has the texture of a creamy oil moisturizer, disappears into my damp hair and defrizzes and leaves it smooth, but I felt no build up. It may even replace headress bc the headress always left my hair stiff when dried. Maybe I will mix the 2: lacio + headress.

just an fyi.

I was in Queens for Thanksgiving & every BSS in Jamaica sold it. I checked 5 of them for the best price since thay are all in a 5 block radius. Are you familiar with that area of Queens? If so, I can PM you exactly where.

It's the ish /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif. This is my favorite leave-in. I use it w/Humectress and my hair is like butta the minute it touches it. /images/graemlins/clap.gif

Sickbay sells it. See Allandra's thread for Dominican products. /images/graemlins/smile.gif And send them a MO, no credit /images/graemlins/nono.gif.

Thanks!! Does anyone know if: Dimethicone Copoliol is a good "cone" or a bad one?? What I mean is.. is this "cone" water soluable?

Thanks again!

you used it wrong LOLOL
use about a quartersize amt... rollerset or blow dry ur hair. I will NOT work unless some form of heat is applied to the hair. It works best with flatironing /images/graemlins/love.gif

Well I don't use it w/heat and I /images/graemlins/love.gif it. I mean /images/graemlins/love.gif it and use it w/all of my airdry styles as well as rollersets /images/graemlins/smile.gif. I use a nickle-sized amount.

I don't use mine with heat either. I think it's a good product, but I do like Salerm 21 much better. The amount one uses probably depends on the length / thickness of one's hair.

Well I will try it again adn let u know what I think. What is it suppoed to do...increase sheen?

I did not use it with heat, but it did work. First, my hair is super crinkly now because it is underprocessed. After I washed (Cream of Nature) & did not even condition bc I was at my mon's house and there was no conditioner. I part my hair into sections for each roller. Before rolling my damp hair, I apply about 1/2 a dime size to the length of the section and ten roll the hair. I concentrate on the ends. Once I am done, I cover my head full of rollers and allow the hair to dry fully.

The things that I liked about it that Salerm could not give me: (1) no feeling of a "coat" on my hair and (2) smoothness and (3) shine. Honestly! It could be the texture of my hair.

Lacio also has MINK OIL as a 3d ingredient & the SILK PROTEIN is also early up on the ingredient list, my hair needs oils, so maybe that's why. Salerm has a lot of moisturizers--good to soften, no oil and silk towards the end.

It really comes down to which works best on your hair. For me, Lacio is better than Salerm.

OK I tried it last night with heat and it was BIG difference...My hair feels so smooth! I jsut hate it becuase my roller sets are "compact" because I do not have allot of length but once i regain some length...I am going to live by this...Ok...I will admit...I like lacio Lacio better than Salerm...for roller sets anyway...my hair is so silky!

Yes, admit it Tonya, it's better /images/graemlins/poke.gif.

Why are your sets compact? It sounds like it's time for you to graduate to larger rollers /images/graemlins/smile.gif. W/the right sized roller your hair will be straight and just have a nice bend /images/graemlins/smile.gif. You always talk about your hair like it's short. Your a medium, just like me. Embrace it girlie /images/graemlins/wink.gif!

You know what is also good - Star Placenta de Ovejas Leave-In (similar to Lacio Lacio but with Placenta) and Rivas Silicon Mix Leave-In. I love these!

Well I did graduate this time...I used the orange ones...(will post in album in a second) and my set still come out "trail size". Your hair is longer than mine. My sides are so short! /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Stop it, my sides and front are my weakest spots. They aren't as thick and have never been 'long'. They are just beginning to dust my shoulders /images/graemlins/smile.gif. But I'm happy w/them b/c this is the best that they've been in a long, long time! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Are you sure you can't use purples yet??? Your hair only needs to wrap around 1.5 times.

I realized that the mink oil is really the key ingredient for me. I noticed that after applying lacio, i don't need to wash my hands. My hands don't feel greasy, but my cuticles are nicely moisturized. I researched mink oil on the internte & found this:

Application of Mink Oil results in dramatic relief of skin dryness. The oil is rapidly absorbed and does not produce sensations of “oiliness,” “greasiness” or discomfort. It lubricates the skin and helps to reduce moisture loss, thus enabling the skin to re-moisturize itself, trapping moisture from the lower cell layers.

Lacio has mink oil as the 3d ingredient and silk protein as the 4th. I just washed my hair again and gthis time, did not even rollerset right awy. I just applied the lacio and let it air dry for 1 hour, by the time i was ready to roller set, the hair was smooth again and detangled and felt soft and moist. i don;t even feel like I need to add another oil in the morning.

Can't wait to try this stuff. Like bajanplums1 my hair is also underprocessed (story of my life) /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif, so I'm hoping it will help give me a smooth finish after rollersetting and/or flatironing. When I take my braids out later this month I'm leaving the hair out for a while. Hopefully this stuff will help me manage it.

For me, braids help to curb my inner PJ. But knowing my hair will be out soon is making my fingers itch. And now I'm going to search for this Lacio stuff. My local BSS will probably be happy to see me again. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif
