Random Hair Thoughts/Thinking out loud

This hair stuff is why folks come here but the community is why many stay. I was annoyed that I had to use a different browser for this site due to ads but it’s like no one gets hair like folks here true scientist babes. My hair after decades looks fuller and that is because of y’all. Gratitude.

wore my hair in a fro to work today. It was supposed to be a fluffy braidout but it wasn't fully dry when I unraveled it. Oh well. I like how it looks:afro:

will be going to a natural hair specialist after I come back from vacation in a few weeks. I'm starting to get sick of constant protective styles. I want to wear my natural hair and not feel like I have to cover it all the time. plus braids are expensive, even if the hair is included.

the new stylist is way more affordable and I wanna grow my hair out so my fro can be big and healthy

I took your advice and downloaded another browser. I almost jumped ship. I could not stand those ads :nono:

I don’t really use the products but any thoughts on the Mielle controversy?

I’m wondering what is causing the reaction that people are dealing with.

I tried this line on myself and my daughter in 2023 and this year. That was after the sell, and I haven't had any hair issues. I grew our hair out with this brand in rotation.

I specifically tried random items from the Pomegranate & Honey, Babassu Brazilian, Signature Line, and the Rosemary hair oil. There wasn’t much of an impact, good or bad. The products I tried weren't aren't as rich and deeply moisturizing as I require, but they didn't raise any concerns. I will use up what I have and will not repurchase. I'm discontinuing the products because they aren't anything special. I don't believe they harmed my hair. Since my daughter’s hair likes coconut oil, her hair maintained manageability and suppleness while using the products...particularly when she was in a season of wash-n-go's.

Hair loss can be just as simple as it is complex. Someone may know they haven't had any illnesses, that line was the only change in their regimen, and their haircare practices are on point. That context helps to pinpoint the cause of hair loss efficiently.

Unfortunately, many people caught COVID-19, experienced other major illnesses that were not COVID-related, introduced mRNA into their systems, may have had one or more medical procedures/surgeries, have poor nutrition, poor fitness and/or may have questionable haircare practices. Anyone whose surrounding conditions didn’t remain a stable control or were in bad shape will have difficulty reliably blaming Mielle as the definitive cause. I don’t say this to debunk their claims, and I am sure they are having hair loss. I am just not sure this brand is the only contributor when other factors that could have contributed to or exacerbated the hair loss is visible.

I picked up travel containers & food storage containers from Dollar Tree

Since most Ayurvedic teas don’t last past a week and I make 8oz at a time. I will Freeze 2oz Ayurvedic ice cubes, store them in the freezer in a storage container. Every week, melt 2oz and transfer into my travel spray.

I also saw panty hose at dollar tree, wonder if I can strain my Ayurvedic hair masks.

It's doubtful that I will reach my goal of BSL this year. My hair has been in APL purgatory for a long long time at this point. Had to have most of my hair growth for the year cut off. Admittedly, I have not been caring for my hair as well as I should and I probably need to go to the salon for more regular trims.

It felt like I forgot how to take care of my hair so I'm going back to the basics and keeping it simple. Wash my hair once a week, keep my hair in protective styles, and moisturize my hair regularly about every 2-3 days with the LCO method.

After 2 decades I think my synthetic wig days are done. I find so many cheaply constructed and wig ish. I will still rock half wigs but will need to invest in 2 good human wigs. If alive in another 5-10 yrs I will phase all wigs out if my hair allows.

I think i accidentally relaxed my hair. I used a deep treatment from Brazil and now my hair looks different.

I wonder if it’s the same stuff that Dominicans be using in the salon. There was no smell or burning and I didn’t use heat. I’m not even mad though

Can you take a picture of the label and it's ingredients?

So yea me wigging it leaving my hair braided up is prob not it. My hair was so webbed at the root. It’s been 3 weeks since I washed it in braids then had that faint spell so I have been a little leery but my goodness. Def will relax this week as I see those textures aren’t collaborative.

Oh no! ((BIG HUG)) I hope you've been doing better since then!!
Do you know what caused it?

@Plushottie

Wow, scary!
Smart move, sis. I've actually come to prefer my kitchen sink hair days. Maybe it's nostalgia for me bc that's the only place I got my hair done growing up.
