More ((HUGS)) to you, @fifi134
I feel so sad by how frustrated you are! Your hair doesn't look unsalvageable to me AT ALL!!
And I think you're on the right track with wanting to do twists or braids! Do them with your own hair - no added hair. And that will reduce manipulation and other damage from manipulating the hair often. You can also wash, DC, M&S and do treatments in the twists/braids. If you don't already, a simple weekly regi of washing and DCing with heat will go a long way - even if you do nothing else to your hair.
Ladies are probably tired of me but I can't sing the praises enough about finding the right Ayurveda combo for your hair! For a simple scalp oil, put 2-3 tablespoons of Amla and Bhringraj into an empty jar and then fill with your favorite oil (I like EVOO and/or Almond). Shake it up and let it sit under your sink for a week, shaking it up every few days or so. The longer it sits, the more potent it is. But you should be able to start using it after a week. Strain as you pour some into your applicator, refill the jar with oil and put it back under your sink. I like to add lavender and sweet orange EOs to the oil in the applicator. Of course peppermint EO would aid in stimulating the scalp if you want. You don't have to be heavy handed when you apply it to your scalp (I am, lol) but get into the habit of applying it regularly. I apply mine daily as a part of wrapping my hair up for bed. I find cornrows to be the most helpful when I'm treating my hair as the scalp is exposed and the rows make for easy scalp applications.
I was still breastfeeding when I started oiling my scalp with the oil and I don't recall having any major post-partum hair issues. I was always terrified it would happen though! I believe using these powders that have LONG been used to prevent "hair fall" was instrumental in keeping hair on my head.
GL to you! ((BIG HUG))
