Random Hair Thoughts/Thinking out loud

Tried that wow dream coat while blow drying and my hair felt soft and smooth. I’m 21 weeks post so I wasn’t expecting blown in the wind fab. I wish we had a general random thought thread bc my bio father sent me a Xmas text which was so random haven’t heard from him in 6yrs. All I know right now the affirmation it’s safe for me to tap into my beauty is really kicking.

It’s great that dad reached out. I’ve tried dream coat but it didn’t work for me so I got a refund. I’d like to give it another try though.

If anyone lives in Illinois, and can get to River Forest, IL I'm telling you Fresh Thyme Market blows Whole Foods out the water with the specialty stuff. They have other regular groceries as well, and I feel like it's much cheaper than Whole Foods. They have several locations including one in Chicago, but I feel the River Forest location is closest to me even though I take public transportation. Very vegan, vegetarian, raw food, and carnivorous friendly. They also have an app and coupons as well. Don't be like me, sign up for the app BEFORE you checkout your groceries to use your coupon.

I use to live across the street from one when I lived in the Midwest that was amazing just ice skate in lol.

My hair looks real nice and healthy with this silk press. I just didn't like how the stylist told me I couldn't use my current products to wash my hair between visits. She recommended Nexxus products; Design Essentials or Cantu for my natural styles. She did a nice job but whatever edge control she used is flaking up the front of my hair and she told me my Sheamoisture shampoo and my other products had bad ingredients and for me to basically not use it anymore. I'm still gonna use up my stash just as i intended IDC.

and then my aunt came to see my hair and kept running her hands through it. I didn't consent to that nor did she ask if it was okay to touch my hair. This irritates me to no end smh

So i'm still searching around for a natural hair stylist. The one I went to today only does relaxers, silk presses for naturals and tape-ins. She said she doesn't do natural styles since that it something post people can do at home themselves smh

the only thing i'll keep up with is getting my trims regularly. She told me I should get them every 6-8 weeks. So its basicallly back to square one finding me a good natural hairstylist smh

Ok so I have to share this lol I have been waiting for ups all day got my stuff finally after stalking the truck. My apt is very key fob only so as it got later I got nervous. Fast forward to getting my goodies ulta fumbled my order putting a Kylie lipgloss vs a liner I ordered. When I say the gloss is the perfect shade of nude peach I would have never touched that on my own. Got my money back for what was missing and enjoyed microneedling my hair and marveling at how this is the 2nd time this week me being rerouted has worked out for me better.
I’m also really excited about hair like I’m feeling something like 07 hair board energy.

Took out my two strand twists (extensions). Kept it in from September to December 27th. I pushed my luck on this one. Definitely should've washed my hair a bit more frequently to avoid build up especially at the nape. The set I took out was not what I wanted at all and the lady didn't know how to use the Outré Spring Hair Correctly :( Well that in the past.

Now I have to decide should I put in two strand twists (extensions) or go to a professional cause they will do it a lot faster and neater. But I'm strapped for cash and I'm so tired of the b.s. I go through when I have to do my hair. I have to blow it out and then press it and even after that they still go through it with a comb and blow dryer.

It's never straight enough for them and I dread paying $200+ to get my hair braided at that price. The last set i got done was $120, which i thought it was a pretty good deal.

I don’t know if it’s just me being weird but I’m excited seeing all the 2024 post popping. I hope everyone stays on their zoom and goes after their goals be it baby toe length hair, Jesus snatched your body transform, becoming a quiet trillionaire, or crafting your dream career. Seeing others even tho I crave more connection post here gives my 4x too small heart a tingle.

I receive it!! And bouncing it right back at you!

2024 is gonna be going to be great AND we're gonna have an extra day to do it!

I'm kinda at a loss at what I want my hair goals to be for next year. I guess I'm just trying to see how my hair can fit into my lifestyle now (exercising 3-4 times a week, super busy with school so I go a month without washing which isn't good, etc.).

Wigs have been good for the past 2 months but I fear how my edges will look after repeated use.
Twists are great for me but they feel super dry right now after exercising for the past 2 weeks so I guess I have to wash more often but I would need to set aside half of my Saturday for it.
Blowouts/flat ironing every 2 weeks seems time consuming but style-wise is prob the easiest to maintain/detangle. I do want to use my Revair more often to stretch my hair though.

Decisions, decisions...

What about doing flat twist back into a bun, or seeing if doing braids in your own hair would last longer than the twists?

Outside of wash n'gos, I found that blowdrying and flatironing is the fastest for me on wash day and throughout the week. My night routine is so low maintenance and the morning is just combing my hair into place. My issue is that my hair is trained to be washed weekly. My scalp ain't having it!

I was thinking about flat twists the other day. I think I'll be trying flat ironing first in the new year to see what works or doesn't work. I just need to try a few styles to see what fits.

I took a risk on a wig color that I couldn’t find anyone doing a review on it it’s blonde but without dark roots and mercy blonde is my color now it feels so pretty. I truly am entering into my miss piggy/Dolly Parton era.

I may be having early onset dementia but I feel the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life. It’s like I truly am happy to take care of my body like it’s making me millions. I actually massaged my hair now and it hit hmm I need a protein leave in as it felt spongy now I’m exploring options. It’s something to pour into self.

@Plushottie Why would you need to have dementia because you feel beautiful? If anything, you had dementia before because you didn't feel beautiful . Now you're waking up in your right mind :yep:
I guess it’s my spectrum mind until a thing is complete I don’t see it. Like people who get a house built can see the vision where I would need to see close to done. But it’s been so wild how I’m seeing self hair included.
