Question For Women Who Wear Wash And Gos

How do you keep your hair from getting flattened/ squished to your head when it is pressed up against something?

For example if you're on the couch, sitting in a chair, lying down.

Is it possible to get around this? I always have to refluff and pick my hair back out after it's been rested against something.

I usually have this problem if my hair is not 100% dry and/or I didn't use hair gel with strong enough hold.
If I know I am going to be lying down or sitting on the couch for a while at home, I usually pineapple and throw on a satin scarf or bonnet so I can fully relax without it getting squished on the sides/back. HTH!

Generally, if I'm at home I'll lean against a pillow with a silk pillowcase. I tend to be more concerned with materials sapping moisture from my hair. I'm not too concerned about my hair being squashed because it usually becomes full again with a shake, once the pressure has been released. My texture is cottony 4c/b so maybe that has something to do with it.
