Oooh, youe hair DOES look thick - lucky woman!

My suggestion? Coat detangled hair with conditioner. Get your Denman (if you don't have one, run, run, to Sallys and get one) and brush your hair back as firmly as you can. Lay a scarf/dorag on it, and tie tight. Wipe off any conditioner that oozes through, let dry.

If that doesn't work, you might have to try gel, and I have no suggestions there.

Use some gel like fantasia IC brush it don with a denman then with boar bristle brush to smooth it out. Put a scarf on it till it dries.

Make sure you DC b4 and after..
Cause the gel will dry out your hair.

Ecostyler gives me the slickest hair in the world. I first wet my hair, apply condish, add the gel. It does have protein so make sure you're not protein sensitive.
