I gave my mom my other bar of Shikaikai soap, MTG and reminded her of the importance of pre=pooing and DCing.

She LOVES the soap and wants to know where to get more, and her hair has been responding really well to the other recommendations!

I told my best friend to leave her hair alone except for moisturizing it...

She would wake up every single morning and do some elaborate style with tons of heat and gel, etc.

Its been thickening up and growing nicely for the past 4 or 5 months though!

my mother has the thickest coarsest hair i've ever seen in my life. she used to wash her hair every couple of months. i got her to start washing every two weeks and her hair is doing great. i cant get her to wash every week but every two weeks has done her hair some good.

My cousin LOVES Sweet Cashew's line SheScentIt.com

LOVES. She is even using shescentit products that I haven't tried yet. I also told her how to pre poo.

I ordered BT intending to use it myself. I used it once but didn't care for the smell (unscented). Shortly after I got it, my sister was diagnosed with alopecia areata, so I gave the BT to her. She's been using it faithfully and the spots are filling in slowly but surely. :yep:

Wow, that's GREAT to hear.
Will/Are you using OCT/MT ?

She must've been frustrated with trying to deal with it.
Good to know that more frequent washing is working~!

She wasn't making an elaborate "fan" was she?

Remember that style?

LOL!!!! :lachen::lachen:

Girl, no. She had more hair than that but it was beginning to break and thin more and more with every passing day!

She was doing pin ups with bangs and swoops and diamond accents....don't ask :ohwell:..she's been my BFF since we were 5 or 6!

Turned my mom onto ORS Olive Oil Moisturizing lotion. She's natural, but gets dominican blowouts from time to time. Her hair will be reaping the benefits of more moisture real soon.:yep:

Lol, I used to put lil jewels in my hair when I was younger.

Yea it sounded like she needed a break! (NO PUN INTENDED I SWEAR)

I taught my mom to co-wash and to stop using heat. Her hair went from thinning and breaking to lush and thick. I'm so proud of her.:yep:

Mami loves EVCO and Silicon Mix, my aunt really likes Cantu leave-in (glad somebody does), one of my cousins uses EVCO and EVOO religiously in all of her conditioners now and actually pulls up my Myspace page for her students to see my hair :ohwell:. She's my biggest advertiser! She also gave her ex my # Sunday because he's having some thinning issues. He called and was like "Ang told me to call you, she said you can help me out." Aww! I also have a friend at work that wants to be my product tester for thin/fine-haired ladies. I've given away so many products, it's ridiculous and my sis actually came to me and said she wanted to transition, which I'm so excited about! My hair pales in comparison to hers so I can't wait to help her with that! :lick: Now if I can only get her to stop cutting it :wallbash:

mom and sister are transitioning with me; mom will probably BC in the next week or so and i am cutting off the last bit of my sister's relaxed ends this week. i have also been keeping sis's hair in yarn twists and while it has always grown fast she is RETAINING LENGTH...

all that scolding over wearing a bonnet...moisturizing...not greasing their scalps...stop using that flat iron every time you want to straighten OR curl your hair...and yes mom it IS ok to wash your hair more than once every 2 weeks is starting to work. mom is reallllllly lazy with her hair so she takes more work than my sister but at least with the weekly washes her dandruff is almost gone. oh, and now before i wash her hair she says "dont you have to put those oils and stuff in before you use the shampoo?" i love it!

my mom is streching and used henna - her hair was chin length and now its shoulder length - she is too funny going around swangin her hair and putting it up in clips -

When I started my journey I spoke about the importance of DCing to my Mommy & Auntie. Auntie listens and DC's when she washes (1X per month!!!) Mommy does not listen and continues to abuse her hair daily:nono:....I think she's waiting on me to offer weekly hair service:rolleyes:...I just don't have the patience.

The other day I complained to my cousin about my hair's lack of texture....she told me to wash my hair with BREEZE:nono: Breeze is a harsh powdered laundry detergent. I said "Alrighty then" Bad hair tip!!

My boyfriend's family is obsessed with Silicon Mix. They order huge tubs of the stuff. They say that their kid's hair has never looked better.

My BF's mother also likes stinky Henna Queen Garlic Treatment. I am so happy that I brought good products to their lives.
