It Depends...some friends I help...Some friends I don't

My mother hears all the hair info I learn! She thinks I'm so intelligent and she asks so many questions like "So how do you stretch" and "Whats a Co-wash". It's kind of cute and I'm glad I'm helping her in the process. On the other hand, my mother in law is Mrs. Know it All so I kind of let her be and allow her to keep using that hard plastic brush on her scalp to "stimulate the folicals". I guess she knows what she's doing considering her hair has been nape length since I met her 5 years ago. :nono:

It depends for me because I've told my BFF about the website and she saw how my hair has progressed and everything. She went as far as joining this site but never even going on the site after she joined. Her hair looks really bad now and she has the nerve to be upset about it. I'm like, don't be asking me for advice cuz you're not gonna listen. So I don't even bother. I'm tired of wasting my breath.

Now for my co-workers, they really be trippin on my hair and when I tell them about certain techniques and products, they run with it. So I don't mind tellin them stuff.

My mom listens and she asks me for help so I never mind assisting her.

I am secretely sharing with my goddaughter. Her mother seems to take pride in not doing anything special for her hair. At 12 she is trying to look good and needs to know how to handle her hair to its best effect. So when she is with me I give her tips and suggest which products to use. :yep:Jeve

LMFAO!! It's about to be a....GIRL FIGHT!
Are you sure she co washed instead of using shampoo?

She co-washed alright... And yeah...it came out a tad bit strange. I told her to wash her hair with conditioner and detangle in the shower... No telling what this girl REALLY did.... Tried to warn her.... *sigh*

I try to stay away from giving people a lot of advice. I have found that most people want a miracle treatment rather than a hair-lifestyle change. I recently saw a friend I had not seen in some months and after someone commented on how my hair was growing, my friend grilled me in the car about what I was doing. I just told her that two of the biggest and easiest changes I made was to stop using so much heat and to stop getting my hair relaxed bone straight. She kept interrupting to ask what I was using, and what I was putting on it. I actually felt attacked, like she just knew I was withholding information about some secret product from her. I could tell that she just wanted a miracle growth lotion. And, knowing her, she is going to keep up with her daily curling iron use and bone straight relaxers. I have found that most people have this same attitude.

Well I get asked questions all the time about my hair. Then when I explaint what I've been doing it's like "oh okay" in one ear and out the other. They like what I've accomplished and how my hair looks but choose not to listen when I explain what needs to be done and how to achieve. And I agree that some just think the salon is the sole answer to maintaining healthy looking hair.

The only people I share with are you all ...

Ditto.......
