I also use Chyawanprash..it tastes like a some kind of raisin paste or a thicker version of apple butter but much more intense with spices. It's an antioxidant (builds a stronger immune system). You can ingest it with milk, hot water or spread it on bread. I take a spoonful straight and chase it with milk.It goes for $4.99 a jar.

Love that stuff i spread it on toast.
i guess i use so much ayurvedic stuff i can't remember it all at once.

I also eat dried amla fruit. chaat paat version is good. sorta spicy.

:yep::yep:I use this as well. I also use mustard oil. I was looking at the soaps, I may have to give this a try.

Lakshmi, do the shampoo bars contain SLS?

no they don't. swastik shikakai and nirmal aritha is great. this is a natural soap. the pods actually "soap up" reetha pods also "soap up"

Om Namah Shivaye

I've reading and researching as well. So many of their products are great for the skin, I'm looking for one I should try on my daughter's eczema. Poor thing as been suffering from this since she was 7 months old and she's 5 years old now. Its much better, but the winter season is harsh, please let me know what's worked for anyone with extremely dry skin.

Thanks!
Hi diva. well as i mention in the other post..don't use soap on your lil girl. if you can find reetha pods or soap nut pods. bathe her with that. you don't want chem soaps. it makes eczema worst as you well know.

Om Namah Shivaye

Hi, it soaps up some what, but not like chem soaps. remember with reetha the "soap" is in the shell. so crack it open and get rid of the seed.
do you know how to make "shampoo"?

hi.
if you don't use it all u should put it in a cool place. the fridge is good. or outside in a garage if u live in a cool enviroment. don't place preservatives in it. that takes away the purpose of natural.
remember you can wash up with it clean your car, bathe the dog, clean ur jewelry, etc.

Could someone please post where they are getting these items in the NY area? Please? I usually 10-12 additional ayurvedic supplements depending on the time year or if I am cleansing or getting colonics. I purchase them from mapi.com but they are outrageously expensive. Any listing of the name of the store, address and town would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.!

I used Better Botanicals Herbal Hair Oil (www.betterbotanicals.com) for a pre-poo this weekend, and it worked pretty well. My hair is very soft. I don't normally do pre-poos/hot oil treatments, but it seemed like it might be worth a try. I will use the oil a few more times and if it works out, I will probably try their conditioners. Has anyone tried any of their stuff?

I saw these products in a my local supermarket today when I went to pick up some giovanni direct. Any way I don't own any of there products but I did see the oil there that u are speaking of (it was 14.99!!!) and I also saw that they had an Amla Shine Shampoo and a Neem Care Shampoo , I was soooooooooooo tempted! Looks like some good stuff there. They also carried the shikia (sp) brand of hair care product amoung others. I was really shocked to see these items at a grocery store. The store also had walnut oil, almond oil, rose water and other things used in hair care.:drunk:

Navratna oil for sleep and sore muscle relief.

Tumeric soap and creme for cleaning face and glowing complexion.

Hesh castor oil for my eyebrows and fine lines around my eyes. I don't know why but it works.

Jasmine oil for my hair and skin for freshness and softness.:bump:

Where do you get this oil from....I need some.

The Dallas Morning News had a story on 1/15/08 about tumeric being good for exzema and psorasis. They put it in a capsule and take it for clear skin.

My question" What helps with teenage acne?
