Pre Shampoo Treatments

Ladies,

I have often heard you refer to pre-poo treatments. What exactly do you do during this process and how do you find it helps your hair?

Thanks!

I do a coconut milk pre-poo treatment.I simply put milk from the can in a spray bottle with a 1/3 cup evoo.I spray and leave-in for 20-30 minutes.
My hair is so light and shiny with this treatmnt.I also feel it has aided in my hair growth.

I do several pre-poo treatments:

1) Hot Oil- I just warm up EVOO and apply it to my hair, cover with plastic bag, and I leave this on for 30 min - 1hour, and shampoo out

2) Deep conditioning- a concotion of EVOO, honey, & VO5 nourishing Oasis in Lavender. I leave this for as long as I can covered with a plastic bag then wash out.

3) Avocado & egg- I do this every 2 weeks.

4) Egg & Mayo-This is a great protien treatment for me. I leave this for 30 minutes or less and I shampoo out with cool water.

I notice a MAJOR difference in my hair ever since I've been doing pre-poo treatments. :yep: My hair is naturally curly. I get more curl definition and the moisture is out of this world!!

Edited to add: I apply all this to dry hair.

The only thing I do before shampooing is apply a thick conditioner to the ends of my hair only and let it sit for about a half an hour then proceed to shampoo and deep condition if neccessary. I apply it to dry hair and I find that it keeps my ends soft and moisturized. I apply my deep conditoner over my whole head and throw on a plastic cap for about an hour then rinse and style.

I'm still experimenting but my current favorite is mane and tail conditioner with evoo applied to dry hair and left on for an hour.

Thank-You for your responses.

What is EVOO? I noticed a lot of you use it. Who is it made by? Can I just go to a beauty supply store and ask for it by letters?

LOLOLOL ... All this time I thought it was some product from the store and I have had the goods in my kitchen cabinet.. I think it is time for me to pack up from work and run home to do a pre-poo treatment.

Thank-You for the information and compliment!!

P.S. If my boss comes lookin for me, I wasn't here..

I remember thinking this same thing a long time ago. I actually buy a BIG jar of honey and a BIG bottle of EVOO and it lasts for months & months. :)
