I believe this is Lyon Girl by Freetress. It was too long so I cut it a little.

Don't remember what this is called....sorry! The pics are huge, I know. My bad. I couldn't resize them. I just bought coconut girl today so I'll post those shortly.

You're pretty Songbird. :yep: I like the last pic of your wig. Cute.

I'm wigging it for the first time ever this Winter '09/'10 (I usually do half wigs, but this time I'm using full wigs  I went to the BSS and invested in a non-synthetic.. "real" hair wig I haven't used it yet (the cold hasn't hit yet so my hair can still take it) but this is what it looks like:

WX-CLEOPATRA_L.jpg

So I went and bought this gorgeous lace front wig I've been eyeing for about 2 weeks. It was on sale for $49.99...synthetic...the brand is Whisper, the Style Tia, color 1 (my hair is jet black). I don't know if I have the energy tonight, but I want to shampoo my hair, do an aphogee 2-step treatment, deep condition with QP DPR-11 or ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Pak, dry under the hairdryer, and then braid underneath, oil with Amla oil, and put on the wig cap so that I can leave the wig on for at least a week. I think I will follow that regimen for a month with the wig and see how my hair does. Okay, here are the pics of the wig, and then on of my trusty month-and-a-half-old bun! heehee

Oh, question, I have the glue for the wig...do you lace wig wearers cut the lace before or after you glue?
And does anyone wash the wig before wearing?

I have another question...

For those ladies sporting wigs - do you braid your hair wet or dry underneath? Also, do you cover with a wig cap? How often do you take off the wig to either wash/condition/moisturize - once a week? twice? everyday?

(okay - that's more than one question!

To answer your questions, I braid my hair while it's still wet, but by the time I get to the front it's pretty much dry. I cover my hair with a satin skull cap/doo rag thing. I co wash twice a week and moisturize twice a day every day.

I hope that helps!!

You want to cut the lace before you wear the wig or glue it down. I do not use glue at all though. I would suggest trying the wig with out the glue and you may find you don't even need it at all:yep:. Sometimes if the wig is shiny I will soak it in a water/shampoo mixture for a few hours to get the shine off. Another thing that works for shine is putting a little bit of baby powder on your hands and running your hands over the wig. I like your bun.

Songbirdb, Lyon girl is the bomb on you! The color is perfect and it flatters your face so much. I love those wet and wavy wigs.

Brooklynhrt--OMG, I love, love that sexy asymmetrical twist-bun combo. IT looks extra good on you because your hair looks dense and thick.

SelfStyled, that's a cute little style you concocted, though I can't really tell from the pic how it's different than putting up one's straightened hair in a clip. What type of rubberized clip do you mean? Thank you!

I don't have a working camera, but I wore this half-wig a few weeks back:

Even though it is more wavy than curly (I am a 3c-ish ) and even though it is thick and dense in the back (and I am thin and thinning), everyone (mostly Euro but also my 2 Black American women colleagues) told me they liked "my hair that way." I think the only reason they thought this is because I had hadmy hair straightened the week before so they forgot how my own curl pattern/thinness looks.

I don't really know yet how I feel about people knowing I'm wearing wig after wig. I have a gorgeous halfwig I'm hesitant to wear because people will know right away it's not my hair (for various reasons). I suppose I kind of like the mystery of people being like "how does she change her hair up so often?"

Hi Yankee Candle:wavey:- Ok the difference is that my hair is only SL, so I would never have that much to hang over in that style :lachen:. Also my ends are nice and tucked away:yep:. These are the rubber clips I am talking about.

I get them at Sally's and they are so gentle on your hair for updo's.

That wig is really cute that you posted. My motto is I can switch from straight to curly in a single bound:look:. Seriously, most of my wigs are about the same length. I can't be too wild and crazy because of work, but I really don't give a whoot who knows if I wear wigs. At the same time it's not like I will profess before a business meeting, btw I have a new wig today:lachen:, when people compliment my hair, I say thanks and KIM.:lachen:

Hi Self-styled:bouncy:

--LOVE those clips.:yep: I need to get a ride out to a Sally's some times (we don't have chain stores like that in the city--to my knowledge, anyway--and I don't have a car) and stock up on goodies.

I am always wanting to add on a swatch of hair just to build up my sadly thin ponytail, or bun or what have you but the trouble is that I cannot findfake hair that matches my own texture. I only straighten 1-2 x a year. Other than that, I have thin, fine Scary Spice-ish curls. All the curly hairpieces I've seen online and at the BSS are too big (like 3a or 3b-ish) and too UNIFORM to blend with my hair.

That wavy-ish wig I wore is cute, but it's kind of "wild" for a professional atmosphere. I felt out of place wearing it but it was so hard to find something with some kink to it that was not a large perfect fat jumbo chalk spiral.

I am backordered on HairSisters for this one and I'm hoping the curls are small enough to simulate my own:

gorgeous hair, ladies!!:grinwink:

You know, ever since joining LHCF and being able to view your pictures and fotki albums, I have not wasted my money on those stupid Hype Hair, Black Hair, or other hair magazines for inspiration for styles, tips, or how-to's! :lachen:

This forum rocks!!!:2cool:

Girl aint that the truth! I realize that they only recommend certain products in their articles because they're being paid to do so, not because the products are worth a recommendation. Why didn't I realize that before ? :wallbash:

I bow down to you for this pic. It looks PERFECT on you...you look beautiful.

The curls look so natural to my eye.

The ONLY place I found it was on HS, and it was backordered there. I hope it's not discontinued everywhere :(

Also here are some more pics of my past wigs:
