I thought that all pomades had mineral oil or petroleum, but I was just reading someone that says they use pomades, but only the good kind with none of these ingredients. I'd like to try one. Does anyone know of an example?

Aura Humectant Pomade. You can find it at Sally's Beauty Supply. It's a knock-off of Aveda Humectant Pomade, with slightly different ingredients. You can do a search on this site and find out more information including the ingredients on both of those pomades.

Carol's Daughter has 2 types of pomades-kizzy (smells wonderful!) and Mimosa hair honey.

i second the carol's daughter. I love Kizzy! it has castor oil, jojoba oil, and shea butter. it makes my hair really soft and shiny but not greasy bc it soaks in. a little goes a long way.

Kemi Shea Butter Pomade has no petroleum/mineral oil.

Pomades are used mainly for controlling the hair they are usually thick in consistency.
