I'm definitely anticipating WL as the most difficult length for me to reach as I haven't ever had hair that length. I reached MBL when I relaxed my hair after being natural for 7 years, I didn't have any length goals at the time. After I relaxed, I was complacent and wasn't taking proper care of my hair, it was very inconsistent and to be honest lazy. I didn't put it up at night, I was getting crazy split ends, breakage and shedding, every time I went for a trim more and more was being taken off till I was eventually SL and that's when I started my HHJ and bought my subscription.

The last length check I did on the forum I was at BSL, I'm not sure of the exact length I'm at now, I'd say somewhere around APL, I'll be 12 wks post on Thursday and will be getting a touch up and a trim then. I'm not worrying too much about length checks before the end of the year, I'm focusing on the health of my hair and retaining what's there already. I'm not want bothered by how long it takes me to get to WL, I just want to do it healthily.

I voted WL. I started my journey at SL in May 2010 & got to MBL in September 2011. However I've been stuck there ever since. Reason being I slacked on regular trims. My September 2012 relaxer I got a 2 inch trim to BSL & hopefully this will take me over the MBL hump. I plan to get more regular trims if needed or not. I'm taking it slowly this time.

Full WL is the hardest - I've had APL for as long as I can remember and made BSL and MBL fairly easy once starting my HHJ in 2010. I was well on my way to WL but breakage caused a setback. I gradually trimmed back to BSL earlier this year. Not getting regular trims was my down fall - won't make that mistake again.

I answered mid-back. But I would say roughly bra-strap to mid back. I had a couple of set backs before reaching bra -strap. For mid-back I am there but recently had a clip an inch. Ends were slightly thing and didn't want to claim a thin mid-back appearance.

it took what seemed like forever to get to apl, and then like six months later I made bsl (it was actually early this year)

Crap, I messed up the poll. Reading is fundamental. :look:

APL was the hardest to get to, before I was always at or above SL. When I started my healthier regimen, I still had a lot of bad habits that had to go even though I was taking better care of my hair. Ultimately, I saw a little more thickness, movement, body, and shine over length. I still used too many products on my hair thinking more was better and provided more protection, I still had a scissor happy stylist, and I still didn't stretch my relaxers. Keeping it simple helped my hair to retain my growth better, replacing my old stylist with a new one helped me to actually dust instead of cutting off what I was growing, and stretching assisted in me having enough growth so when I dusted I still had visible length. Getting to APL just took a lot of regimen altering that I didn't quite figure out the first time around, like getting a skin peel then a face lift lol. The lengths after that were a piece of cake for me but I cut my MBL/WL hair back to APL a few months ago because I wasn't taking care of my hair properly. So even when you get through the hump, don't get lazy, stick with what's good and keep at it. Don't let your hair suffer after you overcome a difficult length milestone because you can end up getting rid of all the hard work and progress. Right now I love how easy it is to take care of my hair but I won't take advantage of that again and subject my hair to abuse just because I'm blessed to have a very easy hair routine.

I voted BSL … I'm tryna get there now after achieving APL in June. Six months to get from APL to BSL my foot … that's true for me anyway.

Length is not my problem, its thickness. Ill trade apl thick hair over my waist length thinness ANY day! Id probably even trade for shoulder length.... ugh. I just had to let out my frustration lol

WL was the hardest. I never have any issues reaching BSL. I cut my hair to NL from grazing WL in December 2011, and by August 2012, it was already at APL. Now I'm trimming regularly to grow out the relaxer (I'm transitioning) so my hair is only about an inch past APL since I'm in no hurry to grow it out. But if I let it grow, I can reach BSL/MBL by Spring 2013.

However, getting from MBL to WL was almost impossible. I was in the inbetween stage for like a year. It's only like 3 inches at most! My hair was just grazing WL when I was freshly relaxed and under the jet of water, yet it didn't look WL when flat-ironed :nono:. So yeah, I cut it off to NL when it was still only grazing.

Hopefully it will be easier this time around.

Wow what regi do you have!?!?! Lol

It seems that APL is elusive. It seems to be taking longer than I anticipated. I expected to be past it by now???!!! Well, it is still growing and it is a learning experience. I am just trying to learn what my hair truly needs to prosper.

I think APL is going to be the hardest, I always has trouble retaining when I cut it ti APL and to SL. It was BSL when I was like 12 and never had a problem...but over the years I kept getting scissor happy cause its was convenient to have shorter hair in school. But I did a earlier this year (last year? Feb 2012) to shorter than eL (eyebrow level ahaha) and its currently a partial grazing SL the front is still grazing EL (bangs and sides).....But its longer than its been in 4 years...so I know my hair will get there...it just might take me a while.

I've been sitting at BSB since August 2012 so am going to say MBL. Crossing my fingers I've finally got my issues under control. It took a while to figure out that this do doesn't like cones (I had stocked up on Silicon Mix), is protein sensitive (two large bottles of MegaTek did not help), have low porosity hair (heavy oils are NOT the business) that sometimes swings to extremely high porosity with certain products (ugh, talk about a mess) and detangling takes more finesse than my natural hair ever did. Oh and not doing S&D sessions between dusting didn't help.

All of this resulted in minimal retention in Q4. It's only day 8 of 2013 but I do see an improvement.

SL...I got so excited that I had a little bit of hair (4b) I started playing in it, over manipulating it, and over processing it (heat) SMDH

I should have known better....bye bye 2 inches of hair!!! :swearing:

Now I'm APL in the back and SL in the front. I have learned my lesson :yep:

I have been stuck at waist for over a year. :/ so getting past that has been the hardest.

In the shower, it is past waist and barely rests in the crook of my back now (where my butt starts). I am not sweating it however, because I am now transitioning. I think I will get there are some point this year though.

i have had several setbacks over the years for varying reasons

at bsl i've had to be cut to apl several times
at mbl i've had to be cut to apl at least once

:look:now i'm bsl and hoping i can get to mbl/wl this year my hair is cut in layers so wherever the longest layer hits i claim it and i don't curr what y'all say:lol:

WAIST LENGTH! I'm going through it right now! LOL Between my shedding and my serious case of shrinkage, lawd knows if I'll ever make it. LOL

WL so far seems to be the hardest because everytime I reach MBL I cut my hair, its like I have a problem or something LOL. Every other length was extremely easy to reach

APL took forever because I was slowly trimming away the thin, damaged ends, plus I didn't know way the he-double hockey sticks I was doing during the first year. I practically have a whole new head of hair since beginning my hhj.

I agree with you. I had the same issue because I am very scissor happy.

MBL. I've been BSL seems like forever. I'm going back to using Mega Tek. Maybe then I will reach my ultimate goal length.

SL took YEARS, mainly due to having just went natural, burning, frying, damaging, bleaching, and doing multiple big chops. I hit CBL and now I feel like if I keep doing my cowashes and bunning it should be a cake walk. I haven't and don't plan on straightening my hair for awhile so that could be another reason. Now that I've taken a good amount of focus off my hair, it seems to be going smoothly. I know by the end of this year I'll be APL unless I significantly screw up.

My main worry is the blunt BSL I'm shooting for. I'm impatient, and I'm scared I might reach my terminal length sooner that I hope to.

I totally relate to SL taking awhile, I'll be almost 3 years natural from a bc and it took me the longest to really understand what my hair would respond to the best. A few months ago I had to cut out some old henna color which had made my hair feel like wire. I'm not sure why though. But after PS'ing for the past 2-3 months my hair is back to the length it was before so I'm glad that I didn't do too much damage. Now I'm hoping to keep up my PS for at least this first 6 months until I feel I have enough length to do PS'ing without adding extensions, because my ultimate goal right now is WL.
