YES at home.

never going to do it again!

the most digusting, foolish, sickening, irritating stupid, horrific thing I've

ever done to my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yup, i did it at home myself in feb.. i used creme of nature. i havent noticed any breakage from it at all, i love it! i plan on doing it again in about 2 weeks:yep:

i am sadly addicted to color, which is why weave has become my friend to save me from damage. i have done all shades of red, brown, and even blonde to black. my mom made me wait to alter my hair til i was 18 so then i turned into a mad scientist :spinning:

I got myself a few highlights (or streaks :perplexed) back at the end of Feb and I'm getting more tomorrow. I've never had a problem with color, not even when I was relaxed. I've only had my hair colored professionally when using permanent color, except the one time I used the Bigen to color my hair black. What a mistake that was! I learned to never DYE my hair black unless I'm willing to just grow it out. It's too damaging to lift (I've tried that before too) and professionals just recommend you grow it out or cut it out. I did the latter over time.

I've done rinses and semi permanents at home in the past though.

Bigen is permanent.

I want to dye my hair black, but I'm too nervous to do it. Eventually I will, but a professional I trust will do it.

Hi all! I'm a newbie and I really really want jet black hair and I absolutely will not use a permanent dye. So I have a few questions... What's the difference between a rinse and semi-permanent and since I co-wash daily is it pointless to get a rinse/ semi-permanent?

No, but I would like to dye my hair jet black with bigen. My husband does not want me to, so I won't, but I think that it would add a richness to my hair :( My natural hair is dark brown, although some areas have turned a reddish brown, which make it look like high lights under the sun. I don't like it, but I have to keep it :ohwell:

I recently just colored my hair, I think it depends on the rinses you use. Maybe of the other ladies can tell you more, but i dont think its a waste. There are plenty of woman on here with black rinses that co washes frequently.

Perm. Color = black done by a professional in April. Roots are already brown. :ohwell:

Once you go black, you'll never go back!:lachen: I'm addicted to permanent black color.

I would only do a semi-permanent in black. If black is darker that your natural color, it will last longer on your hair than the box says. If there is any remote possibility that you may want a different color in the future without growing out your hair, don't do a permanent black color. For most, it's too hard to lift without damaging your hair and for some it's impossible to lift permanent black.

yup
at the end of last year I dyed my hair cosmic blue (black w/ a blue tint) and now at the front of my hair, I dyed it light brown
