Please... Be brutal

I think it would be cuter if you made the parts even and in more of a design and didn't do the bantu knots going up in height, but more wide (if that makes sense). Like Jada in Matrix

IMO, the way it is right now, I think some people at your school would have things to say that aren't nice. High school can be very juvenile...kinda like LHCF:ohwell:

@niqu92 I won't too many mixed emotions going on in my head now lol besides my head is really starting to hurt, I can't imagine wearing them all day anymore.

*whew* ok gurl you had me all worried and scuurred cause i knew if u went to school like that those kids would tear you into pieces. highschool sucks booty people stayed making fun of me even when i never did anything to attract attention:nono: so i could only imagine what would happen if you went to school like that.im so glad you made this thread so you could get everyones input before you went to school tommorow lol

if youre really trying to protective style then just do buns and dress them up with pretty clips/pins so they dont look too boring

Yes wear your knots! I would make the parts smaller and neater. Also make the knot smaller. Have you ever tried 2 strand twists?

She cannot wear a wig in high school. You must have gone to a magical school. With sweet and kind people in the halls.

Op don't wear a wig to school.

i wear mine all the time now but i wouldn't have worn them to high school.. high school kids are petty and i wasn't as confident as i am now.
i wouldn't do it if you're unsure OP. it's a style that will get you weird reactions and looks and you gotta be completely confident thinking "i look damn fly *** the haters" to pull it off.
might i suggest, for the future, when you leave high school :look:  and can wear em like a BAWSE, smaller knots and straighter parts?

i had no idea so many ppl on this website disliked bantu knots, given the propensity to embrace looks that most regla folks would sideye anyways. so now i know some of y'all prolly looking at my pics like :look: and lying when you "thank" them in the everyday hair thread lol. but oh wells i have not one single *** to give. lol.

You are a very beautiful young lady.

Highschool children and some adults can be very cruel, I know, but that doesn't mean you have to get their blessing to be you. Wear your hair however you like, where ever you like, whenever you like. Never conform to other people's standard of what's acceptable or unacceptable. Why give them power over you?

Bantu knots are pretty and can look very chic. Symmetrically arranging them and creating straighter parts will make a huge difference. I think they are unique and stylish; it takes a rare kind of confidence that comes only from within to wear them.

Go for it! Be you! :yep:

I can picture myself in high school calling you "doo doo balls" behind ur back. Don't do it. It would start with me then erbody would be saying it. Kids are ignant in high school. That style doesnt do ur pretty face justice.

I've warn bantu knots in high school. But mine were smaller and I did use extra hair to make them more stylish looking. Since you ask for honesty, I will tell you that yours don't look like the type I'd leave the house with. IMO, they would need to be smaller and the knots would have to be fuller like Jada's, which would require you to add hair.

I don't think Bantu Knots are a bad hairstyle, I've worn them to my office and they were well received, but the precision of parts are just as important as the neatness of the knots. Your knots are very neat. If the parts aren't done in a beautiful pattern, in my opinion, it spoils the look of the hairstyle.

I think, to make this style really work, because you definitely have the beautiful bone structure to carry it off, you are going to have to get some one to help you make the parts in some kind of pattern all around your head. Also, the knots need to be centered within the parts. Good luck.

I wore them in high school but I agree with @kinkycurlygurl you have to nail those parts of it won't look nice. If you can do that I say rock it!

Baby girl, you're pretty but high school will tear you apart for this. :nono: As a previous poster mentioned, bantu knots can look pretty if properly styled and she posted some nice examples, but again immaturity from your peers will bring stupid comments.

I agree with all of the above. Work on the parts and the size. Until you get the parts straight wear the bantu knot out. The waves would be cute. I believe that if you are not confident with it then you may not be able to pull it off. But if you like it then that's all that matters. But you have to realize that high school is an whole different world. I remember how mean and cruel a lot of the people were back then and that was the late 80's. :lachen: Good luck.

You have a pretty face and I can so see you carrying that style off if done properly as others have stated. I find the examples posted very pretty.

As for high school, depends on you and how confident you are. I personally feel that you shouldn't give a flip about what others have to say as long as you are satisfied with the way you look. No matter how you come out of the house, there will always be at least one someone who will have something negative to say. Why give others the power to dictate how you should look? A lot of the people who would be flapping off at the mouth would probably need a full mirror check themselves.

The Jada style is hawt! If you were to wear them you would have to add hair. The pics you posted are just way too skimpy without. A neatly parted design would also be cute and you could rock them and be different. There is nothing wrong with that.

Don't wear what you posted to school.

I think you are adorable with your little knots. I rock the knots AND I wear them to work and anywhere else I feel. AND (not that I care) I get compliments....DO YOU!!

I don't like the look on you. Loosen the knots and wear the waves for a few days. Then rock a headband for a few days. Then a bun for a few days. That should get you through the week if done right.

Ps- youre a very pretty young lady with a nice smile :yep:

A Bantu knot out would be cute but I personally hate Bantu knots by themselves on just about everybody I've seen with then. Definitely consider drying them though and then taking then out for a rollerset type look. That would be cute :-p

You are too cute!! I wore bantu knots in high school and college, and I still wear them today. I luv them. But......I've always been a VERY confident person. Besides, I've always done "different" things with my hair. When I was in high school, I shaved my head, colored it whatever color i felt like that day, shaved names and symbols into my hair as it grew out (luv my Yankees!). I was just that kind of girl. Besides, my knots are fierce. If you have the confidence and don't care what others think - go for it! Otherwise, leave it along - those kids will tourture you.
