Not really lol sugar coat the harsh comments I beg thee lol. So I'm getting lazy and also I'm trying to use more protective styles but I hate braids *shrugs* bad experiences with them. I currently have in bantu knots, and I have no problem wearing them in public, but school, or at least this school is a different story. Its FULL of ignorant people, however I'm only going to be here fore three more months then I'm leaving at the end of May and going back to my old high school...Oh yeah I'm in high school lol so can you guys tell me what you think? As I've said be brutally kind  TIA

You are a very pretty girl. TBH, I would not wear the knots to schools or anywhere. The resulting waves ...Yes!

If in doubt....

You are a cute girl, but I wouldn't wear bantu knots out anywhere...the final hairstyle, on the other hand, would be cute to wear out :yep: That is my preference :look: HHG

Do not do it. In the words of Andre 3000 reconsider read some literature. No but for real I would have done it in HS but I didn't give an *** what people said or thought about me. I also had/have a smart mouth. Bantu knots are not a style though at least not to me. Its like going out with rollers in your hair.

lol i never thought of it that way!

The only time I wear them is setting up for a bantu knot out. I would take them out and go to school in a bantu knot out

I don't think Bantu Knots are a bad hairstyle, I've worn them to my office and they were well received, but the precision of parts are just as important as the neatness of the knots. Your knots are very neat. If the parts aren't done in a beautiful pattern, in my opinion, it spoils the look of the hairstyle.

I think, to make this style really work, because you definitely have the beautiful bone structure to carry it off, you are going to have to get some one to help you make the parts in some kind of pattern all around your head. Also, the knots need to be centered within the parts. Good luck.

kinkycurlygurl Hmm Ill have to try this out over the summer, get my friend to help me part and center them. The pictures you posted are very inspiring!

@ Consantia I hate to sound like a newbie but I've never seen pin curls  I guess its time for me to utilize google

i never understood why ppl wore bantu knots out in public.

i think you received some good advice on here. find another style.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DOOOOOOOOOOOONT DOOOOO IIIIIIIIITTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:cry: at least for me dont do it! lol but if you do decide to do it dont be suprised when people are giving you the "Wtf" look and shouting out "Collio!" in the hallway  highschoolers are rough and tht would be attracting way too much attention

High school no college a bantu knot out maybe... I agree with the bun idea.
My lil sis is 18 and wanted to wear the same style I told her no and she was glad she listened.

I'm on the fence: I work in a high school and I know kids will speak out but my school is remarkably accepting, so not sure if a kid would get teased. We would shut it down in light of new policies concerning bullying and harassment. Then again, I am a non-conformist type because folks are surprised that I wear braids professionally.

That said, I agree with those that said if you are going to wear them, make sure the parts are straight and perhaps go for smaller ones. The large ones do look like that you put your hair up for the night, great for summer, though and hanging out.

I'm from NYC, so bear that in mind.

niqu92 I won't too many mixed emotions going on in my head now lol besides my head is really starting to hurt, I can't imagine wearing them all day anymore.

i think you look cute. But like someone said...the parts have to be uniform and cute to pull of that style. I think its something u can wear to the store, to the laundry mat. But i guarantee you some kid in school is gonna call u coolio. I would avoid going to school like that

Thanks for the compliment :) its usually a weekend thing but I'm gettin lazy

Baby girl, you're pretty but high school will tear you apart for this. :nono: As a previous poster mentioned, bantu knots can look pretty if properly styled and she posted some nice examples, but again immaturity from your peers will bring stupid comments.
