Has anyone stopped using this moisturizer to try others and gone back to using it. I changed to UBH Moisturizer(its ok, feels like my hair is missing something).I also tried Pantene R & N oil Moisturizer(hated it). I'm thinking about going back to the Pink (light) Oil Moisturizer. I had been using the pink stuff for over 8yrs and switched because I figured my hair needed a change.

Yes, I tried several other lotions, especially for blowdrying my hair but I always went back to Pink Oil. My hair is extremely dry so Pink Oil is juuuuuust right for it:)

I like the R&N Oil Moisturizer, but I don't use it allover my hair every day. I hated the Pink Oil. It made my hair hard and I swear it caused my hair to fry when I curled it.

Shamboosie talks about how the "pink stuff" isn't really that good for relaxed hair, its too heavy. I may go to the Deep Brilliance Moisturizer.

I had the same problem with pink. When I was younger...I would use it in my hair all of the time. I stopped after a while. It made my hair frizzy, and when I went to use the curling iron...it left my hair burnt to a crisp. It also gave my hair a weighed down feeling. I definitely agree...it's not good for relaxed hair.

one thing i noticed about that was wen used to moisurise or as a heat protectant liek they claimed it always made my hair fry! but wen i use it for shine or to lock in moisture it aint too bad wen used in moderation

Thanks for all reply's. Blaxalrose I think I'm going to try the Deep Brilliance Moisturizer before I go back to the pink stuff.

the only moisturizer that I like is ORS olive oil hair lotion. The others seemed to b to heavy and when my hair needs extra moisture I like the regular ORS olive oil.
On the usual though I use Proclaim glossing polish to moisturize my hair it contains a great number of essential oils, gives great shine and does not drag hair down.

I don't know about the Pink Lotion, but I know their Pink Lotion RevitaLEX Conditioner is really good! I get lots of slip with this bad boy.

And I like to smell it.

I used to use pink oil but then I turned the bottle over and read the ingredients and realized that it had some of my no-no ingredients (mineral oil, beeswax, petroleum or something along those lines, the "light formula too) I switched to ORS Olive Oile hair lotion. I like this much better. It doesn't have the no-no's I hate and my hair feels moisturized and not weighed down. Pantene R&N was ok too but it has mineral oil in it so I dumped that quick.

Yes, Hondahoney, I'm one of those who moved on from the Pink Oil only to recently come back to it. I, too, tried the UBH (which I liked at first but did seem to make my hair feel like it was lacking). I've also tried pretty much most oil moisturizers over a 14 year time span and I don't know what it is about the "icky pink stuff" (that's what my SIL calls it)

that my girls and my hair likes. It's weird because my hair reacts very well to petroleum and mineral oil. I like to mix a bit of African Pride Leave in Conditioner with it which makes my hair softer. Or, I'll mix "pink" with some coconut oil for a fierce shine.

I'm a natural so like Nay 007, I find the heaviness of the "pink" just right to keep my waves down. However, when I was relaxed it was all I used and my hair was healthy, shiny and grew to waist length. Go figure.

Good luck in finding the right moisturizer for you

!

I basically stopped using it because it was "bad" for our hair, not because I didn't like it or it didn't work. Also, I was anxious to try other things.

I have officially thrown away the Pantene Relaxed and Naturals, that mineral oil hardens the hair. I love the Deep Brilliance Reflect.

I used to use the Pink Oil ages ago and finally stopped using it...telling myself that I'd never use it again so I haven't even considered going back to it. I don't think I will - I tend to not like watery-based moisturizers.
