Grrrrr. I feel like crying and eating chocolate (and no, it isnt because I am expecting that ***** any day now). :perplexed

I flat ironed my hair today and started sweating and then my ends got weird. They're weird anyway, so I didnt need that! Look at those tails... can I even call the extra long parts that?

This is why I feel self-conscious when it comes to wearing my hair out bone straight. It feels thin and I hate that it is never one length. I always fear that people will look at me like "wtf?". Maybe it will even up eventually. So close to waistlength, yet so far. :cry2:

your hair looks fine!!

my hair is a lil uneven and is choco bloc (dont ask lol) but i bet when people see your hair down its envy not disgust!! stop with that talk and pride yourself on your goals!!! (hug) x

Are you kidding me  Your hair looks great. I don't think that people are looking at you weird, I think they're in awe :yep: . Cheer up. Maybe the moisture caused your roots to shrink which drew some of your ends up a bit (just a thought).

After having like 10 mini tootsie rolls, I feel a little better. :smirk:

Thank you guys for your compliments. Shine-on, maybe you're right. I am just really angry with my hair at the moment and I pray that it doesnt f*** up even worse tomorrow at graduation. :perplexed

Why did you post this? You obviously have long hair, enough already. Your looks OK. You could however use a decent trim.

Was that a joke or are you serious.

So are you mad cause your ends aren't even? Different parts of my hair grow at different rates so my hair is never even unless I trim it that way. If you aren't happy then maybe do a little trim (using SouthernGirl's method) and even it up a little. Or do what I do and bun up until the shorter areas have a chance to catch up.

Well to the OP I understand your issue. It's growing long and everything but it's just not where you want it to be as far as thickness and the ends. I have to resist the urge to chop off my hair because I hate my thin look scraggly ends.

But yeah, we can trade hair if you'd like because my frustration level is at ORANGE right now! It is right back where it was last September. No length gained whatsoever and slow growth.

I really feel like giving up right now....

Don't feel bad. My hair was/is still like that on the sides that is. I cut my longest tail (center portion) AFTER I got to my goal. I know how you feel.

Girl please, your hair looks good.:) I don't see anything thats wrong. I agree with what Shine-on said, it's probably the moisture that made your hair draw up.

Parts of my hair grow faster than the others, too. No matter how much I keep cutting them to even them out, it still happens. The ends of hair, especially, on long hair, are usually thinner (unless they are cut/trimmed) b/c they have been around much longer.

Your hair looks beautiful! :rosebud: :clapping: :rosebud: :clapping: :rosebud: Congrats on your graduation!

Yanno, I tend to be a sarcastic individual, too, so I am able to appreciate it when it is appropriate. I do, however, believe that yours was inappropriate. I may be wrong, but it came across as mean spirited.

I dont believe I ever doubted the fact that my hair was long. In fact, the point of this post (on the LONGHAIRCARE forum) was that certain parts were growing faster than other parts. I've posted about this before and there are many ladies on here who are able to empathize with my situation because they have been there before.

Since I hardly ever wear my hair out, I dont think that i could USE a trim... my ends arent damaged and I am trying to grow it out to waist length. I've learned that I cant keeep trimming if I want to grow it out, but nonetheless, the process is frustrating.

I have a big day coming up tomorrow in which I have speak (I'm valedictorian) and I am anxious. Couple that with the fact that my hormones are jumping and I was SINCERELY bothered by my hair.

Everyone has these kinds of days. You should know, you- like the rest of us- are on this forum because your hair isnt always on point. When someone posts a legitimate concern, it doesnt make them a fisher for compliments or anything like that.

Thanks for your post, though. :D

This is one of my main issues! For the longest I have been stifling my hair's growth. First it was to get rid of bad relaxed hair. Than it was to get rid of heat damage after I went sedu and blow-dryer crazy. Then I kept evening it up until it occured to me that if my hair wasnt damaged, cutting it wasnt necessary because I wear it up 95 percent of the time anyway. And the five percent that I wear it down, it is usually curly, so you cant tell anyway. I cant have curly hair, on a HUMID day, under my grad cap. I'd look like a fool. I know me and humidity.

So yea, I was pissed and depressed. I feel a little better, but still pissed and mildly depressed.

Gosh... I wish this board had a multiple quote feature. lol.

Recherche, thanks girl. I have to tell you though, you always have the nicest, most model-esque signatures. I give you props, especially for being a youngin! Different angles-galore!

Okay, this is my last response for now... thanks everyone for your understanding and compliments.

HONI

I was hoping that I could take growing it out to waist length with the uneveness and then once I got there, I could do a nice blunt cut, but it just seems like I will never get there. By the way, I want your hair. lol. Ever since I joined you have been one of my hair idols. :)

Girl your hair looks fine:eek: !! I would beat up my professor for your length. It is probably the humidity/moisture that drew it up like that. have you tried adding some serum or antifrizz cream and wrapping it?

Ps: I quoted this post because you handeled that comment so lady-like. Some people are so....:ohwell:

You are so crazy, girl. But, I agree with everyone, GS, your hair looks great, but like you said, we all have our days when our hair is not up to what we want.

BTW, who gave this post one star?

Thank you, Mizani and HoneyDew (your name just made me hungry. lol).

As far as the one star... my best estimation is that the person who found my question unnecessary is the same one who gave it a one star rating. :lachen: I dont pay attention to those stars anyway and could care less. At least I got A star. teehee. Reminding me of kingergarten and sh*t.

Well said! And congrats..valedictorian...check you out...lol.

I understand your issues because my left/centre grows MUCH faster than my ride side. What I had to do was basically ignore that my hair was uneven and let it do it's thing. It's only now that it's waist length have I started evening it out. If I evened it out too much before it seemed like it was never growing. It seems my left is the leader...it grows out THEN the right follows. Everytime I chopped I had growth issues...weird as it sounds. If you can leave it be..do it and when you get to another milestone even it a tiny bit and continue on...

To camouflage the unevenness you can use rollers to curl the ends a bit.

Congrats again :)

I do know how you feel though. I just touched-up my hair on Monday, and I was so disappointed with the length. I know it grew but it's not where I want it be. Actually, I want it to be where yours is now . I've suffered so many set backs over the past few years that I basically gave up. Then I found this site and I sooo wish I had found it years ago! :notworthy
But I think your hair is georgeous! Don't be afraid to wear it out for your graduation. I'm sure it will look beautiful.

Girl, go out there and represent!!! :yep:

I've been there, but I mine 1.5 inches longer on one side. WTW? I caved and cut it. I miss the length but I don't miss the damage I cut off. Since yours isn't damaged do a couple WG flips and forget about it. It looks great! :yep:
