(Pics) UPDATE for "Trim/Cut It Until It's Even" Challenge

Wow!

Your hair has done a total 360!

Congrats Lady! I know you put in alot of hardwork to achieve this! :)

Your hair looks fabulous!!! Congrats on your progress and good luck with your APL goal! You should treat yourself with something special from all of the hard work you did to achieve this goal. :)

OMG you grow girl!!!  I sooo wasn't expecting those pics. My goodness!! Beautiful hair. :p

I am still in shock!1 Protective styles rule man!!!

Thanks, ladies for the compliments and encouragement!

Regimen:
Minimal heat and manipulation.
Moisturize with Keracare oil moisturizer and olive oil.
Relax my hair every 12 weeks or so. And I keep my hair bunned up for at least 9 of those weeks.
*There was a time when I took extra extra care of my nape by putting it in small braids. That's what got me from that Feb. 2005 pic to the May 2006 pic. I may start go back to that when I get to 5, 6 weeks post relaxer.

I recently started drinking at least 50 ouces of water a day and exercising a few times a week. It seems to be resulting in faster growth. Time will tell.

Hi Ladies.
I know this update to the "Trim/Cut It Until It's Even" Challenge 2006 is long overdue, but here it is. See, Victorious. I told ya I would update next touchup.

For those that don't know or forgot here is what my nape looked like in Feb. 2005 a few months after I joined the forum. This was really a problem because the rest of my hair was much longer than this. It was very difficult to wear my hair down so I did protective styles.

------------------------------------------------

Instead of growing my hair to my ultimate goal (armpit length) I decided to trim the rest of my hair until the back caught up. That is why I started the challenge for 2006.

The other areas (front and top) would have been at armpit length already, but it all looked very thin. Here is what my hair looked like in May 2006 during the challenge. It was lightly flatironed and actually longer than it appears, but you can see the difference between the back and the rest. I had already started cutting back on the rest of my hair, but I wasn't ready to even it up yet. I continued wearing my bun.

I don't have a good overall picture of my hair in August, but here is what the back looked like after a touch up. Still not completely even so I wore it down for about a week and put it back up in a bun.

***I had another touch up in November, but I didn't take any photos. My old camera broke. :ohwell: Anyways my hair was completely evened out that touch up. I was so relieved. I actually wore my hair down for three weeks. Then I went back to my bun.*** :p

------------------------------------------------

Fast forward to today. I've got a new camera so I can show off my nape progress and my even hair!

And here are some more touch up photos. This didn't turn out too bad considering I don't have on any makeup. Lol.

CandiceC,

Your hair looks wonderfull!!! I first saw that shoutout thread to you, so I scrolled down to see if you posted yet so I could see the siggy. Then I saw the link to this thread.

Girl, your progress pics are awesome! The back grew so well, and the sides have lots of volume. Keep on smiling cause your hard work really paid off!

Your hair looks FABULOUS Candice. I am so late....so can you answer a couple of questions? (I hope you don't mind).

Are you relaxed, or natural?

How often did you trim your hair, and will you continue to trim it in the same way?

I cut my hair in October, since the front of my hair was about 1.5-2 inches shorter than the back of my hair (it was bra-strap length). So I finally decided to cut the back, and even it out with the front. Now for the first time EVER, I am consistently trimming my hair even all around every 6-8 weeks, and it seems to be growing more healthy.

Thanks for the answers in advance!
