Hello all, I've been on my happy hair journey for about 5 months now. I've always wanted to do a hair time line of some sort, so here goes. Please forgive the pics. Thought I was a model at some point.
This is me fried, dyed, & blow dried 2007. This was glued in & my real hair was relaxed within an inch of it's life & self bleached:
Chopped it all off when I moved to NC from CA Early 2008. I miss this cut!
Wigging out because I wanted to try micros & my hair wasn't long enough:
Kept braids & half wigs in forever (thought my hair was too short to wear):
Finally revealed my natural (relaxed hair) Dec 09:
2 month progress Feb 10 (I see results!):
Thanks for looking
In case anyone cares to know my regimen, I very rarely trim unless I see a split end. I use sulfate, mineral oil, & petrolatum free products. (except aphogee 2 step, but I pre poo & wash it out) My hair tends to get dry & I need products that will moisturize.
I use a satin cap EVERY night after oiling my ends & edges with coconut oil or avocado oil.
I self relax with luster's smooth touch regular every 8 weeks.
Pre poo with garnier triple nutrition, suave humectress, or v05. Sometimes overnight.
Wash every 7-10 days with elasta qp creme conditioning shampoo. I focus on my scalp & work the rest through my hair.
Use porosity control conditioner for 1-2 mins then rinse.
ORS PAK is my staple conditioner. I put on a shower cap & blow dry with a hand held for at least 15-30 mins or more. I do pre poo with aphogee 2 min for protein as well as use palmer's coconut oil protein pack as a deep conditioner when I'm tired of ORS. Heavy duty aphogee before getting hair braided. Haven't had to use for breakage yet. I never use the balancing moisturizer though. It has mineral oil in it so I use ORS pak.
Detangle with aussie hair insurance, aphogee green tea, cantu leave in or profectiv growth lotion & my conair wide tooth comb. Air dry or blow dry with the cool shot button on. When I flat iron it's with my corioliss ake from ebay for $30, silk elements heat protector & chi silk fusion.
I haven't been protective styling lately except the last two weeks, but when I do it's braids, wigs, etc. I have roller set before, but will start doing so more often & pin curling at night.
