Is anyone familiar with this product? (PM relaxers) Yesterday my mom told me that is what her new stylist put in her hair. She said it was only applied for 6 minutes. She was told that the relaxer would not get her hair straight, but with the right products/heat it would straighten out. The most interesting thing is that she was told that she would only need a touch up every 4-6 MONTHS!!! The stylist told her that she should get clear rinses during that period so that the "drier" new growth would not be so obvious. She stated the texture of the new growth would be close to her relaxed hair. I told her it sounded like they texturized her new growth. Anyone have this? I am looking for tips to give her with this new product. I think my mom is a 3c/4a.

I would think that people w/ 3c hair would be able to stretch that long anyway. I have 4a/4b hair and have stretched that long. Anyway, I get my hair texturized w/ the PM texturizer (I think it was the texturizer and not the relaxer) It's only been once, but yes, a lot of my texture was retained. I haven't done anything special since switching to this.

My hairdresser use to apply paul mitchell on my hair. I didn't noticed anything special. But then again my 4a type hair has never been resistant to any relaxer. As far as relaxing less often, I think that depends on the person. Just like all relaxers.

I'd like to know more about this relaxer too. Because just this past Wednesday I called my beautician to make an appointment, and she told me that she had switched to Paul Mitchell. She is the second beautician that I have found that have switched up on me with my Design Essentials, I've have good results with DE and wanted to stay with what works. I have never heard of PM having a relaxer, and I'm not to fond of switching from my beloved Design Essentials.
