OH NO, OH NO, OH NO!!!

Ta det med ro ... I think you look beautiful. But I know, we are our own worst critics sometimes.

You ARE allowed to NOT like it. It's no different then going to a salon and getting a style or cut and deciding that you do not like it or that it does not suit you.

You have such beautiful features that the style looks good on you. It's still new. I'm sure once you work with it more:techniques, products, growing to the length you want it ... etc, you will begin to feel better. Usa this as an excuse to try new products and buy new hair accessories and earrings :) :)

Takk, jeg har roet meg ned nå, jeg trodde jeg skulle dø haha.
I will definitely add a lot of accessories to my every day outfits.

Tusen takk for komplimentet.

You and your hair both look gorgeous. I bc'ed without transitioning and I went from shoulder length to a real twa much much shorter than what you are presenting here. I really went into shock for a moment and then I realized how cute I was and I got over myself. I reminded myself that this was what I wanted and I was happy to be free of the chemicals and embrace my natural beauty.

I think you look beautiful!!!!!

I am sure when you get used to it, all will feel better.

But, just know that you do look great!

It doesn't look bad at all. Its just a big shock and a change. Also you may still have some relaxed ends that need to be clipped. I hope that you come around to feeling better about it.

Re: OH NO, OH NO, OH NO!!! BC WITH PICS!

I just BC'd and I hate it :nono:
God, I look terrible, I was trying to fix myself with earrings and make-up but I look hideous...

I don't know what to do.
I don't even want to share pics...It is horrendous.

ETA:

Thank you ladies so much for the encouragement, you are truly amazing and I appreciate everyone of you.
I guess I just have to put on my big girl panties and make the best out of it.
I guess I'm still in shock. I was planning on going for a second year but then my mother actually talked my into a BC.
Transitioning is deceiving and I actually thought my texture was different and my new growth was longer...anyway, here goes:

I like it, especially seeing it full facial like that. Love it.!!!!!

YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! Please do not think otherwise, at first a change will take some time to get use to but girllll you are too cuuute! This really makes your face open up defines your facial structure, cheek bones accentuates (sp?) your best features, SIMPLY GORGEOUS!:grin:

OH MY GOSH ARE U KIDDING???!!! U look absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

That was my reaction when I saw the pics. Girl please, youve got this!

Wow!
I actually love it.
It suits you!

I'm sure you'll get used to it too.
When I first got my BC, I HATED it.
I mean, I was crying the whole day.
Haha.

MissNorway :hug2: By the time you read this post you must know that you look great!
The texture of your hair is wonderful! I wish that's what mine would look like! You are gorgeous, now get out there and WORK IT!

No BS, it looks good. I think once you get over the shock and get a hold of the products to make your curls pop and weigh them down a little, you'll be happier. I thinks its pretty and its a great length already. Best wishes!!

Great pics! :) I think the others are right about the initial shock getting the best of you. :yep: BTW: I also agree with the person who complimented your eyebrows, they're awesome. :drunk:

Miss Norway...first of all, you're gorgeous!

secondly, its that whole new haircut, new look shock. you're texture is beautiful. you'll start experimenting over the next few days/weeks with gel and pomades and find a CUTE look that you can rock! my mom just BC'd (her hair was majorly damaged) it was difficult for her to get used to the short curly 'do, but everyone LOVED IT!!!! well, in about a month, its already grown at least an inch, so now its too long to rock her cute curls (it was a longer version of robin's from good morning america.) anyway, it grew so fast!

lastly, if you find that you're not just suffering from new haircut shock and really dislike your like - just remember it'll grow so quickly and it'll be healthy and there are hundreds of ways you can style it or hide it.

very lastly - i LUV your bc'd look and i hope you find ways to style it so that you'll love it too as you work toward whatever your ultimate hair goal is. (i know lotsa folks would hunt down & scalp people for your texture!!!)

After I chopped a few years ago I felt like I looked awful too, but I found that getting some good products and having your hair shaped by someone who really knows how to cut natural hair made all the difference. I'm considering cutting all my hair off again...I really liked being 100 percent natural...it was so easy.

Hi Ms Norway,
I know you may not like the way your hair looks after the bc, but it does not look bad. You look pretty ...Hang in there...It will get longer...
support from a fellow natural.....Trust me I know....I go through it even though I've been natural for almost four years. my first goal was to get past shoulder for the longest. I finally made it this summer. You have my support and alot of other ladies on this sight I'm sure...'cuz I would not have made it without the ladies on this sight.....Hang in there!

Girl! What are you talking about?? Your BC fits your face SO beautifully! I think you look much better with your curls than you do in your siggy picture. The BC shows the beauty of your face up more.

I think its looks great! Besides holding on to those few relaxed ends werent really doing much, now you can really start to be on the grow all natural :woot:

celebrate that girl. its all healthy hair growing from here

I know its kinda shocking, but it will pass, plus there are lots of things you can do now that you couldnt before, besides the growth is just going to creep right up on you quickly, watch

This may be no help at all but hang in there. This is called the "awkward" phase and it passes. It is partly the unexpected shrinkage and partly the mental shock of seeing yourself without the straight hair you're so used to. As your hair grows, the look you want will be more easily obtained.

You are one of the "hair twins" I look up to on this board. Your hair is lovely and I'd trade you for it any day. You can control the shrinkage by wearing braid/twist outs or by banding. You can also experiment with updos. Lastly, the right products will give you the weight and elongation you want. Try the Blended Beauty, Kinky-Curly, or Curls lines. A 3c head of hair, even tighter curls WILL hang with the right product and a little length. You already have enough length to make it happen.

By the way, that's not a TWA... It may be a BAA, but not a TWA! :lachen:

Stay strong, it really does look wonderful.

My SO lives in another state so I just broke it to him by MMS.
All he said was "No hairstyle could ever change the way I feel about you, I'm going to marry you and not your hair. You are absolutely gorgeous and I'm proud to be your man no matter what".
My BooBoo is awesome!!

I still don't like it all that much. I'm getting some butters this coming week so I'm going to experiment with them...
Thank you ladies so much, I feel a lot better with all the wonderful words.
I :heart2: you guys!

I think it looks beautiful!!! Congratulations on the chop!!! Don't worry, we all go through that phase at first. and then you love it!

Awww MissNorway you look beautiful! I feel your shock of the BC (truuuuuuust me!) But you look great! O yea, and shrinkage :look: its a b@#$! But the texture and you are beautiful! Now take that gorgeous head of curls and have fun experimenting with products and more! You are still my hair idol and I can't wait to see what you do!

You look absolutely beautiful as is. And now that you are all natural, you have opened up your options. You can rock that curly beautiful fro and other natural styles or straighten for length.
