ya'll check the ingredients....KCCC costs so much because she uses such quality ingredients...plus, the pH balance promotes a greater shine and closed cuticles (quoting kimmaytube....check her on youtube...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G5qnxMUkVA&playnext_from=TL&videos=reIVzKYhflU )

unfortunately, i can have my hair eating better than me (how my hair gonna get organic nutrients and i cant even afford to buy an apple for lunch), so i sure do own Ecostyler gel :yep:

ITA... KCCC is all organic so for people who only use organic products I can understand. But what's Miss Jessie's excuse? They're even more expensive and put mineral oil in their products.

I love KCCC, I trust the ingredients and it works better for me than anything else I've used before. I also feel good about supporting a minority woman in her business.

If your main concern is curl definition, there are many other products out there that will get the job done for less money. I personally did not like ecostyler olive oil or fantasia ic gel, though many do. They both made my hair hard and unhappy. I had good results with Long Aid activator gel and Smooth n Shine curl activator gel, I also liked Isoplus' yellow gel a lot.

i love familygoingnatural, she is the reason i want to try the blue magic gel even though im not big on gels. i like soft hold gels to do twists but i almost never shingle and when i do i use a cream like aveda be curly.

anyway i hated kccc and i tried it several times. its just not for me. i dont like firm holds, not even to slick my hair back so i went through a lot of gels before i realized its just not for me.

I like the KCCC but after having purchased it, I'm not "into" styling products. I want more moisture, conditioner, etc. I use it for a puff when I am going out but it's not one of those products where I am going to rush out and get it. Especially if you are into bunning or baggying. I'd hate to distribute the KCCC all over my head and then baggy the next night, I got too much hair!!

I went to two BSS stores . I found the Ecostyle Olive Oil fairly quickly but I could not find the Blue Magic Curl Activating Gel. They had every other Blue Magic product BUT the Curl Activating Gel . I ended up getting the Wet and Wavy activating gel. Im curious to see how these products work together.I wont get a chance to try it until tommorow when I do my wash and go. I dont have a Whole Foods directly near me but If I see one Ill probaly go check out the KCCC or maybe ill order it if I hit the lottery someday :P

oh i aint making no excuses for Miss.Jessie's foolishness....she on crack if she think she gonna get anymore of my money....the product is wack :nono:

@ bolded: Qhemet Biologics is organic and they're not priced to a point where it's just completely unaffordable for people to even try the product line. I'm not natural or anything, but I think companies do themselves a disservice when the prices are just so outlandishly unaffordable (esp in this economic climate). I mean, shop around to see if you can find the ingredients at a more decent rate, see if you can strike a partnership with them, etc. I don't know if she's done this or not, but geez the price + shipping is steep imo.

I am a fan of KCCC. It gave me multiple day hair, but since I must budget, Ecostyler olive oil gel is so awesome. It is even more awesome if you use a curl activator underneath it. Soft a well defined curls that you can touch! Got to love it!:yep: I have to see if I can get multiple day hair from Eco styler.:love3:

I'll have to try some of these alternatives. I couldn't stand KCCC's smell, it made a naseous and I only used a dab on the back of my head

Yeah Im not huge on gels either but that Blue Magic is a curl activator like Long Aid so it's performs different than a gel (to me at least). It should be a really soft hold. I'm hoping the BSS will have some tomorrow when I go, I'm pretty sure i saw it there before.

I'm not sure what kind of BSS you went to but I've only seen the Blue Magic at the Korean owned ones.

As far as KC, I can't knock her hustle. I don't pay big dollars for products anymore, but if I had to I'd rather give it to a minority business owner than make some guy in China rich. :yep:

My point exactly! The mark up on Kinky Curly products is no more extreme than the mark up on haircare products made in Asian countries. Would you rather pay 5 dollars for a product that cost 20-15 cents to make (actual figures). The ingredients in the product are known to be unhealthy for the hair AND body. The profit goes to large corporations owned by Caucasians and Asians.:nono: OR pay 30 dollars for a product that cost 5 dollars (though i would guess it costs more to produce, considering its a small business and the ingredients are natural/organic). The ingredients are proven to be beneficial to the hair. The money goes to a small business owner, in America, and an African American woman on top of that!:yep:
I don't mind giving my business to Ms. Shelley if I can afford it. Plus I know Shelley cares about the health of our hair which I can't say for other hair companies.
I mean I understand not being able to afford it but I'm not going to disparage Shelley for making a quality product and pricing it accordingly. And maybe homegirl is driving a Benz, I don't see the problem in that! I want all of you ladies to be prosperous and drive Benz's if you so desire. I'm never gonna knock you for it, I'll congratulate you!
Just my two cents. :look:
#tangentpost. lol:lachen:

My only qualm with KCCC is that it takes too long to dry. I don't mind the price increase because the product is unique in terms of ingredients and results (I can't find another natural product that produces the same result as KCCC). I'll always have a jar around but will definitely look into the other products mentioned.

Now see this thread right here is why even though I lurk nowadays, i will never stop paying to be on this board....y'all are some of the most resourceful ppls i've ever run across...

I think I need to make a BSS run today :look:

My thoughts exactly! I love KCCC and Ecostyler just didn't work for me. Also, Ecostyler doesn't have the great ingredients that KCCC has! My hair has never been healthier since I switched from regular gels and activators to KCCC. My hair is shiny and/or bouncy and I can adjust the amount to the amount of hold I like. This product is awesome and I'm proudly supporting her products and her business. I 've wasted too much money at Asian owned stores for products that were not made to improve/maintain the health of my hair!

Any of you ladies that did not like the KCCC let me know and I will be more than willing to take it off of your hands! (seriously!)

I have personall done an experitment with KCC. I bought it, and as soon as I began using it --I was experiencing "knots". Now my hair was extremely short and I was growing out of my bc.

I thought maybe it was the new growth curling upon itself. Then, I thought about what I was doing different and realized that I started using KCCC. Well, I stopped immediately and went back to my conditioner leave-in and olive oil treatment. I repretty much got the same results. That was proof to me that it was the KCCC putting knots in my hair. Yes! I've heard about Knot(t) Today...etc,

I refuse to buy a product (Knot(t) Today)to reverse the product (KCCC) that is suppose to actually work.

So, I have stuck to what works for me. Now I have tried other products that I feel I can use on\off, but overall I prefer my conditioner\oil olive cobo.

HHG~
