baddison
natural for good
Thanks Baddison! What type of coffee and amla are you using? I've seen several brands and what are your measurements?
I use regular coffe lying around the house. Or sometimes I use tea. Do a search 'round here and you'll find out that a good coffee-rinse, or a tea-rinse is great for the hair. And coffee has just the right amount of acids to release the henna, and make a great bond. I tried lemon juice, and it dried the mess outta my hair. THe same for the vinegar. Coffee works best for me.
These measurements are a "best-guess". For me, its the cosistency of the henna that tells me when to stop adding ingredients....
I start with roughly 75g- 100g of henna. I went to Bed,Bath&Beyond and actually purchased a "grams" measuring cup.
I usually brew 'bout 10oz of coffee, and let it get to room temperature.
I use about 2-3 tablespoons of Dabur Amla oil. Amla oil is fabulous for the hair.
I add about 2-3 tablespoons of Aubrey Organics white Camellia Ultra Smoothing conditioner. Mmmmm....besides the heavenly smell of this condish, its also all natural, and it helps my henna rinse out like butter.
My consistency is smooth and creamy, not too runny, but not too firm. It goes on real smooth. I never, never, ever, every wait for color release. I get that while I sleep. I hate walking around with a heavy "Mud-head" (coined-by my husband). So I make sure to henna only and always on a Friday nite, so as soon as I awake on Satuday morning, I'm ready to start my saturday-moisture regimen.
This has been working for me close to two years now. Don't know if I'll EVER give up henna'ing. It has done so much for my hair.
