I've used this on my relaxed hair. I love it! To tell you the truth it may have been the best henna I've ever used. I didn't really notice too much henna dying and it made my hair soft. I remember wanting to stock up but the indian store I buy it from ran out for a while(plus I couldn't remember the name).
Fast forward a little past a year and I've found it at the store, this time I bought 4 of the little angels. Since I am now natural I dont know how my experience will be, I'm sure it will be similar though.

I never used it but I still have it. I'll probably try it sometime this year. Thanks for the reviews, Ladies.

Oh yes, this is a keeper the color took extremely well on my gray hairs. I can't wait until next week to see the color...I'm all braided up for the week now. It takes a few days for the color to oxidize, so the color will be even brighter. My hair feels soft and strong at the same time. I really like the tone of red that I got this time, it's not orange at all. I wonder if that is because of the Alma in the mix or because I used grapefruit juice....tea...coffee  I'm not sure what I did right but I got the color I wanted all along!

I'll just do it the same way again :giggle:

So....your greys DID NOT come out firey orange like Bozo the clown??? (...like mines did...):wallbash:

What kind of color did you get....more browner tones???

Bozo the clown is the exact color you get with a true henna on gray hairs, that's better than brassy yellowish gray which is what I got with Jamila..

I rather like like the bozo red myself :look:

Mix it with a little bit of indigo to get a more chestnut brown color. For instance 75g henna to 30g indigo. Try that as a ratio and tweak it from there based on your results. Make sure to add the indigo after the color has released in the henna (see internet for exact mixing instructions for indigo) I just add hot water and let it sit for 30 mins then I add it to my henna but that may not be the right way, that's just how I mix mine.

I used this brand on Saturday. The Indian store here FINALLY got some Henna in and this is what I bought.

I mixed with warm water and let sit with the corner of a paper towel in it. It only took about two hours for the color to release. I mixed Indigo with warm water and salt and let sit 15 mins. I mixed both of those together, added Amla powder and Maka oil and applied.

I loved it. My hair is super soft and it was really easy to rinse out. I will go back and buy up what's left now!

I have this. I love it. I use is as a rinse. I use it between shampooing and conditioning. I leave it in anywhere from 5minutes to a couple of hours. It depends on what I am doing. The more I use it, I start getting auburn highlights. Maybe not auburn … I can’t really describe the colour. I notice it more with bright lighting when I am looking in the mirror.

I have used this in the past and it conditions my relaxed hair very well. The color releases quickly as well.

OMG!!!! NUPUR HENNA is da bom-diggety!!!! :wow:

I did my two-week henna treatment again, but this time I used the NUPUR......good grief - it was AWESOME!!!

Here's my mix: (sorry...can't really get into measuring with grams:perplexed)
1/4 cup Nupur Henna
1/8 cup Nupur Henna (the 1/4 cup looked like it wasn't enough....I was right!!)
1/2 cup coffe
1/2 cup Tresemme Moisture w/Vitamin E conditioner
1/4 Vatika Coconut Hair Oil (this is Great stuff, too:yep:)
2 tblsp honey

My mixture was smooth & creamy...almost like a baby-food creaminess & consistency. I finger-parted & applied to dry hair. Covered with a few plastic shower caps and then went to bed. It was Friday nite, and I always do my henna overnite, so I don't bother with waiting for any color release. I'll get it as I sleep.... :hehe:

Next morning.....TODAY!!

I got up rinsed out the henna. It was ssooooo easy to rinse out. I needed nothing but my running water. Maybe it was the added oils, maybe it was the added conditioner, maybe it was the added honey....WHO CARES...this thing rinsed out like a dream!!!

I proceed with my regular wash & DC w/Heat routine.....

I am singing the praises of NUPUR HENNA. The indian store near me, SUBZI MANDI, sells 200g for about $3.29 :wow: I'll be a henna'ing monkey before I run out of henna....LOL!!:lachen:

The color is beautiful. Not as bright red as the jamila. I really wasn't happy the the Bozo looking bright oranges I got with jamila. But this NUPUR color has more brown tones, like an aurburn brown. And i know it will oxidize in the next days and get even darker. I'm in love.

My hair is so strong. It feels like fibers that are just strong, yet with the right moisturizers & oils, the strands become so obedient, and pliable.. I am loving my hair today.

QUESTION: How do I store the rest of my dry henna, until my next application?

I agree, this stuff is wonderful. I just put mine in a ziplock bag. You can put it in the freezer. If you are going to use it within the next month or so, you can just store it in the cabinet. I don't treat it like gold because its so cheap and easy to get

In the fridge or freezer in a freezer bag.

Is this the one you're talking about?

Wow, I am so happy you ladies are finding so many different hennas out there that really work well so that my choices can start varying without fear of buying the wrong ones:yep:. Thanks ladies for the wonderful reviews.

I have that henna, and I love it. I also have something called Heenara (I think that's how it's spelled) and it's like the Mehendi you are talking about, but it has 14 additional herbs added to it, including the amla, bhringraj, brahmi, and shikakai. I got it from a bangladeshi store near my house.

I tried this brand last week for the first time and loved it also!

It gave me the dark chocolate brown I wanted except for my grays turned a bronze color. After a few days my hair got darker and the grays got more orange.:nono: I gotta do something about that now. It's right in the front so I think today I will put some indigo on them. You are right it was so easy to rinse out. I will keep using this brand.

Another successful henna treatment completed :wow:

I've gotten my mix down to a science..LOL. I am LOVING the mess :love2: outta HENNA!!!

I think this will be my staple henna mix from now on.

1/3 cup henna
1/2 cup coffee
1/4 cup Dabur Amla Oil
1/2 cup Tresemme Moisture Vit. E conditioner
This mixture is soooo smooth...like lotion. It spreads easy and is easy to apply. Once its mixed, it goes right in. I NEVER wait for color release. I get that while I sleep. :woot:

First of all...the Amla oil in this mix made this smell incredible!! In all seriousness...I could barely smell the "earthy"ness of the henna. :rosebud: And second of all, I think the Amla oil was also responsible for the henna mix rinsing off like butter....yup! It literally just slipped right out of my hair under running water... :yahoo:

I've been doing my overnite hennas 2x's per month now....every 2nd & 4th Friday nite, followed by my Saturday Moisture-day routine. I can say that my applications keep getting darker and darker. This is a great thing. I am no longer battling clown-orange-colored :clown: grey hairs. They seem to be more of a brownish, almost auburn-burgundy color. Its beautiful!!

Grateful for all the knowledge I have gained here. I would have never discovered the benefits of henna had it not been for this site. You ladies are awesome :grouphug:

Your mix sounds fabulous very similar to like mine and I also found that my grays went from bozo the clown orange to that lovely color you mentioned.

I'm not sure how I'm going to do the henna's with the BKT's thats an experiment for a different month...:scratchch

i must confess....

this was one of my BEST hennas yet!!!

I just added 4 cups of tea (2 chamomile, 2 green) to 4 packages of NUPUR henna (80 grams each). I let it sit for 4 hours and the applied 1/2 of the henna mix (i froze the other half for next time) for about 8 hours (i fell asleep) and then DC with Patene hair mask. Please note, I did "pre-poo" with brahmi oil and co-washed my hair before applying the henna.

Even before I DC'ed my hair was SOFT! Not at all dry. (Mind you this is my 10th henna application in 5 months so that may have something to do with it.) I love that i didnt have to add in extra powders or add in oils or honey to get a smoother application. It was smooth and an easy rinse out. No twigs :)

I hope I get the same wonderful results next time!!! (For my DFW ladies, they sell this henna at the INDIA MART in Valley View [Irving] for 99 cents!!!!)

Just bought some from my local Indian store. I added water and will let sit over night. I have grays, so I have my Indigo on standby if needed. Thanks for the reviews!!

another successful treatment. WOW! :wow: my hair is absolutely pretty. You can barely see the color indoors...but when I step into the gleaming sun...ITS GEORGEOUS.

No dryness whatsoever. I think its the Amla oil that I put in....or maybe its the Aubrey Organics WHite Camelia condish...:lick: My hair feels great.

Two Thumbs up!!:yep:

Yes I notice that when I went to the Indina store today , I purchased four bags along with my favorite oils. I have not used Henna for a while I had damage my hair , which I cut off and been wearing a quick weave. I will tried Henna one more time i love all the ingredients in this new package, I paid 1;49 I love this. My total cost for all of my oils and henna was only $28 dollars, thas great. Something funny happen when I was at the india store , I though I was the only black lady in the store. One lady came from behind me and look in my cart to see what I was buying , she kept standing by me like she wanted to asked an question, then she disappear from the henna section. another lady came aroud me when I was around the oil and shampoo section and stare at me, I just laiugh, then she disappear. Then the owner came and asked if he could help , I stated no you help me last time , I just taking my time reading the product. I was like like what really going on:lachen: , I know the indina people look at me , but the sister taht was crazy. The owner check me out and stated that I like women who take care of their hair , you have pretty hair, I just smile and thank him , it was my weave. Well I going to tried this henna tonight after it sit for two hours.

Hey check it out...they changed the packaging:
