I had to throw my shikaki shampoo bar in the trash- outside. It didn't leave a scent in my hair, but it stunk up my bathroom. It was like urine mixed with something I couldn't remember...

Neem oil- this stuff smells like garlic butt, not garlic butter, garlic butt. Don't know if I will ever use this again, but I ain't throwing it away. :nono:

Darbur Amla-I would only use again as a pre-poo, the smell is like a strong grandma perfume.

Yes. Jamaican Black Castor Oil is great but to me it smells like ashes. I just went and got plain 'ole Castor oil and it worked just as well.

I like my hair to smell fresh! I don't know how anyone can use Sulfur-8. I would be so embarrassed by the smell.

I did the exact same thing with coconut oil. I purchased the one that had the flower smell, it was making me sick to my stomach. Scent was waaaaay to strong.

So now I use food grade coconut oil and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did the same thing with cocoa butter the other night. I was making something and added cocoa butter. Now I like what I made but the cocoa butter smell is really strong and I added three different essential oils. Smell is still strong.

I think my neices are going to be very happy campers when I give them the tub of new stuff their Auntie just made.

food grade is the way to go!!!!!! :lick:

Urine mixed with death. I thought my brother was peeing on dead rats and hiding them in the cabinets.

Then I called myself putting them in a bag to hold the smell in. It still stunk through the freezer bag and I tossed it.

I just got done using Aphogee and I always wonder why I don't use it more often until I'm sitting there letting it dry with this face:  My SO kept on telling me it was dry so I'd go rinse it out.

LOL, I know!!! Not only did it jack up my hair, that durn shikaikai bar stunk to high h*ll!! Everyone in the house was like "Dang, what's that smell?? Did you flush??" :lachen:

I wasn't even worried about giving it a second chance, tossed that sucka!

The only thing I stopped using was JBCO--it smelled like stale cigarette smoke. :ohwell:

Usually I try to smell before I buy so I won't have this issue...

Damn, what a combo!! :lachen::lachen::lachen:

kids organics shea butter detangler. smells like hot fart and cotton candy. i hate the smell of all kids products. :nono:

i use olive oil sparingly on my hair, because i don't want it to smell like a pizzaria.

i REALLY want to try ghee, but everyone who uses it talks about a faint rancid butter smell, and i'm not sure how i'd react to that.

I had to stop using MTG completely. Also, couldnt leave BT or Vatika in my hair so decided to use it as a prepoo before the salon. I stopped that too bc I got too embarrassed like they were talking about me. The shampoo lady insisted she didnt care what I did and if it made my hair grow she didnt care if I put $$@$^ in my hair but still I couldn't do it.... the other stylist said I left the shampoo bowl smelling bad......

I bought qhemet biologics tarkady tea replinshing mist-it smelled so bad like strong tea-i couldn't bare the smell so I never even got to try it :ohwell:

Ojon restorative smells like cigarettes and coffee too me and ORS replenishing conditioner smells like oranges and is a little too strong for me. I agree that VS and Silicone Mix could double as strong perfume. Didnt like the Shikakai bar smell but there is a shikakai bar that does not stink. I think its the Ayumix brand if you want to give it another chance.

I voted for "I'd dump it". I tried to use the Dabur Vatika oil (coconut w/ other herbs). Maybe it was just me, but it smelled like farm animals. I just couldn't do it , the smell made me wanna blow chunks :sick2:

I remember purchasing the Silicon Mix shampoo and I thought I was going to die. It's like someone dumped a bottle of perfume in it. It has a very strong smell, one that I can't aquire. After several weeks of trying to give it away on the forum, I ended up giving it to a co-worker.

Oh, I know and if the scent wasn't enough, it listed formaldehyde on the ingredients list!!

I have this Vatika Hair Oil that I haven't been using b/c I just couldn't get used to the smell. It was more unpleasant than it was nauseating. Also, Carol's Daughter has this vanilla leave-in that eventually started to give me a headache.

I have to add that Sitri-Nillah Deep Conditioner smells so good that I use it too much! Thanks, BJ!

Lacio Lacio is too perfumy.ORS Hair Mayonnaise makes me shudder just thinking of its scent. Also Garlic shampoo and Wild Growth Oil. Eww

I kinda dumped a product b/c it has a strong grape smell that I don't like. It's too bad really b/c it's a nice, thick moisturizer that makes my hair really soft. But b/c of the smell I only use it every blue moon.

I got a sample of that and didn't like the smell either. Plus it was sticky. I gave it away.

I stopped using ORS Carrot oil because of the smell - I used to feel paranoid using it when someone came too close to me so I stopped using it - it did smell like like carrots - yuck!!
