Nexxus Vs. Suave

Have any of you ladies tried both, and which do you prefer?, I used them mixed together recently and I am loving my hair right now, I am 14 weeks post, I also used the emergencee for a quicky, very nice, it feels slippery on my hair is that normal, almost slimy, my combout was sweet, I used NTM, followed by Keracare essential oils (thank you ATLWAVY), air dried, I have sheen as well as soft newgrowth,

To me they really can't compare depending on what you using them for. Nexxus conditioners are super moisturizing and thicker, so I use them as rinse out or deep conditioners, but I could never use them to co wash. I have pre-pooed with the Keraphix before, but I get better results when I do it with Suave.

Ditto..They have the same ingredients (in different proportions). Nexxus is A LOT thicker (therefore concentrated) than Suave which is a LOT MORE watery.

If you're looking for a MAIN conditioner, and you like what the humectress does for you - I'd say go with NeXXus.

I'd recommend Suave and V05 for conditioning washes and detangling, not as your MAIN conditioner that you use for moisture.

I've tried Suave's Humectant and the Milk and Honey. Not sure which one I like better, yet.... but I like the oils that are in the Milk and Honey that are absent in Suave's Humectant.

Good idea, I really love what Vo5 does for me especially strawberries and cream , and then their is the Nexxus, okay I can do this, off to the store I go,

Nexxus Therappee--yes everyone raves about this one, but my hair stylist and I did not care for it. This did nothing for my hair, no slip whatsoever. I used it to wash my combs, and it leaves a film on those. I guess I will use it on my floor and rugs, add a teaspoon of it to my other shampoos. This is definitely not a keeper.

I finally used the Suave BioBasics Shampoo. However, I noticed one thing--and that is--it has a slight ammonia smell to it. This smell was not there the night before nor was it there when I bought it from the store. So I read the ingredients. It has ammonium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, ammonium xylenesulfonate, and ammonium Chloride. Maybe that’s why it smelled.

I didn’t want my stylist to notice the smell while he was washing my hair, so I diluted it with Trader Joe’s Peppermint Castile soap, which I normally carry in my purse to wash my hands. I shook the shampoo bottle vigorously. I didn’t want the ammonia to burn my scalp, but I wanted to try it anyway for the first wash.

Well, everything worked out fine. No complaints from my stylist, and it did a good job. The funny thing about it is that the whole bottle of shampoo did not smell like ammonia. For this reason, I’ve made up my mind I won’t be replacing it; but in the meantime, I will just dilute it with the castile soap or any other shampoo that doesn’t work well on my hair such as Nexxus.
