durning that time, I thought that my hair was just looseing up, I wanted to know if my braids (cornrows) where just coming a loose or if that was new growth, I cant tell the differents cause the texture is the same .I plan to braid again this summer and I wanted to keep up with my growth

, Thanks in advance

I would say it was most likely new growth because as your hair grows, the braids get looser and start dropping down some. At least in my experience. Of course the best way to tell is once you take them out straighten your hair.

My question was, are my braids loosening up or is it new growth? I hope that it is new growth, cause I just got braids and want to start measuring to see how much growth I have. Thanks

well a little bit of it will be slipage, the rest is u. try to look in the middle of the braid to see cuz i know mine slips in the back and front.

Slipage is when the braid starts to slip down your hair so it gets lose and might look like your hair is growing but it's the braid moving down your own hair.

I had the same problem earlier this year. I had braids in and I started taking the hair vitamins. All of a sudden my scalp was very messy and I wasn't sure if it was new growth or the braid slipping down.

Right now my hair is colored so I can see the difference better. I colored my hair two weeks ago and I already see new growth. Last year when I colored my hair, I didn't see any new growth for more than a month. So I can definitely say that my hair is growing faster.

Well if you have cornrows the individual braids will losen and not feel as tight. I am not sure how to explain it but when you first get your braids it's usually tight and you see no lose hair (ur hair) hanging around. Now fast forward one month, you see all that extra hair (ur hair) showing around the cornrows? Well that is either due to your hair growing OR the cornrow losening up.
