Need HELP about my steamer!!!!

I have a steamer and the brand is Professional OZONE. Whenever I put tap water in it things are fine but when I put distilled water in it, it smokes a little, if that makes sense. Am I doing something wrong? The directions state to use tap water the first time around to avoid the smoking and afterwards use distilled water. Nothing is working. Anybody else have this problem?

I never had this problem with my steamer but I thought its supposed it have steam coming from it? Where is the smoke coming from? Maybe you can call the manufacturer and see what info they have for you! Is there a warranty on it?

ETA: mine is from salons-r-us the professional one

When I put distilled water in mine, it sounds like something is frying. With regular tap water it's smooth without any agitation.

No smoke. Maybe I just need to send it back. Does anyone add salt to their distilled water?
