when im not in a PS style..my reggie i simple

-wash whenever hair feels dirty/see buildup. i use bakign soda and cheapie conditioner..then use a thick creamy conditioner afterwards(right now its tressemme, my fav is HE HH)
-detangle with every wash
-co wash when moisturizing products arent working and my hair is dry as ever with tressemme
-moisturize and seal daily with stay so fro and coconut oil
-plait hair up nighlty to keep it stretched.

It's not KISS status yet but I'm getting there.

I wash bimonthly with either a diluted sls 'poo or a nice non sls one. I follow with a dc detangling with it and if my hair is really tangled detangle under running water.

I use either Suave, VO5, Hair One, or HE as a leave in and seal with macadamia nut or any available light oil mixed with Castor oil. I then do twists or braids and put it in a bun or updo.

I moisterize with a leave in spritz every morning and with one of my leave ins every night.

I wear a twistout or braidout bun for the last week and then wear my hair completely out on washday.

I do a henna or protein treatment as well as a bentonite treatment every other month.

Prepoo -
Not every wash but if my hair is tangled for whatever reason, I prepoo with hollywood cholesterol conditioner mixed with jojoba oil, EVOO, Wheat Germ Oil, honey and 3 garlic pressed cloves for shedding

Wash -
Every two weeks or one week if my hair needs it. I wash with Dr. Bronners or co-wash with VO5 moisturing milks. Or a natural/organic clarifying poo if I’ve used a lot of products

Conditioning
Mostly Deep condition with Alter Ego (love it) using steaming method by LMoms. If no Alter Ego, I use Eluicence (sp) Repairing Conditioner

Seal/Leave-ins
Leave In - Joyce Williams Hair food (love it) with a little bit of KKC Knot today or Giovanni Direct Leave In. Seal with my home made spritz of jojoba oil, coconut oil, evoo, wheat germ oil, aloe vera juice, peppermint and lavender oil.

Style
I mostly twist my hair going back in about 6 twists using on each section a bit of jane carters foam/setting lotion, le kair cholesterol, eco styling gel and a dab of aloe vera gel. Once the twists are in I usually rub in JBCO down the parts. I usually sit under the dryer for at least a half hour (depending on time constraints) to set. In the morning, i rub organix coconut anti breakage serum and garnier anti frizz serum on the twists before removing the twists (gently). The shine is fierce!

My twist set usually lasts for a week. Once it starts breaking down - loosing it's form - I do a pin up and then a puff for the remainder of the two weeks. Sometimes if I'm really feeling my twist out and not wanting to rock the puff, I will re-twist using my spritz and a bit of eco gel.

STAPLES! EVOO, EVCO, Alter Ego Garlic Conditioner, steaming, washing at least every two weeks. Mostly everything else is subject to change but the listed are sticking with me no matter what
:yep:

Mine is pretty simple too...

Wash with EQP Creme Conditioning Shampoo and DC with EQP DPR 11 once a week.

Apply Nexxus Humectress as leave in and style.

I cowash 2/3 times a week, detangle 1/2 times with conditioner in
I shampoo once a week
I do an amla treatment at the end of each week or fortnight (depending on plans)
I puff/bun daily
I use avon quick touch leave in moisturiser, seal with parachute coconut oil and use boots curl cremé to keep the frizzies down

I don't like to call what I do a "regimen" because my process is based on what my hair needs at the time. Since my hair is quite predictable, "what I do" most often is as follows:

1. Clarify w/ V05 Kiwi Lime Squeeze Clarifying Shampoo

2. Apply Aphogee 2-min & put a thin coat of avocado oil on top

3. Rinse and apply KBB Deep Condish

4. Rinse & do an ACV rinse

5. Detangle w/ JC Leave-In as needed

6. Moisturize w/ either JC Hair Cream or Hydratherma Naturals Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion & seal w/ KBB hair oil

7. Twist hair & seal ends w/ castor oil

8. Wear twist-out for 2-3 days

9. Detangle, braid hair, & wig it up until wash day

KISS

I co wash as much as daily or as little as once or twice a week, but I try to do it as often as possible so that shed hairs can be removed and not build up and cause tangles. In the shower, I usually finger comb my hair and detangle with Vo5. Sometimes, I'll use my wide tooth shower comb to detangle. I haven't used my Denman brush in ages. After I'm done, I use Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deeper Moisture conditioner and a little EVOO as a leave in and for moisture. I let my hair air dry in one braid.

Every blue moon I shampoo my hair. I recently started using sulfate free shampoos. Last time I shampooed, I used Burt's Bee's More Moisture Shampoo. My hair is long and sometimes get in the way. So as for styles, I like to keep it up and out of the way.

I wash once a week with Castile soap ( peppermint). Detangle and then twist with avocado butter, honey and organic castor oil and keep my twists covered all week when I go out. I spirtz daily with water and baggy for about 30 minutes. That is it! I love it!!

I like to keep it simple too!
weekly wash consists of:
prepoo on dry hair: coconut oil, coditioner-oil-molasses mix or mayo-molasses-oil mix sit up bonnet dryer with heat for 20-30minutes
shampoo and condish: AO in honeysuckle rose, white camellia, or island naturals

detangle with kbb hair milk or nectar in sections using a shower comb and plait in celie style plaits that are medium sized to air dry. if I have to be somewhere the next morning and its still pretty wet I run the blow dryer over it for a few minutes, them put on my wig. I gather the plaits in a ponytail that I tuck under like a bun then put on my wig cap. I apply mositurizer to my edges and ends almost daily (afroveda shea alma, pure shea butter, kbb milk or nectar. i always tied up my hair at night with a silky or satiny type of scarf made of polyester so there's no friction on my strands and they don't get dried out.

Wash once a week with Chagrin Valley natural poo bar (honey/ beer)
After wash detangle with water mostly plus just a little Knot Today (this is a change for me)
Deep condition when I feel like it with Elucence light whey protein conditioner.
Braid using a little Qhemet butter (I can't remember the name of it)
Sleep on satin pillow case

Some day I wear a braid out some a bun. If I bun honestly I just leave the hair in a bun all week. I may re-wrap the bun and brush the front a bit to freshen. At night I dampen my ends and dap a little coconut oil or castor oil on them.

If I'm doing a braid out all week I only use product (Qhemet) the first day. I don't reapply every night.

I detangle with a wide tooth come then come bach with a slightly narrow come. I din't detangle anymore with the Denman but I will run it through my ends to clump sometime if I'm wearing a wash and go. I've been struggling with knots thus the switch from mostly wash and go pony puff to braid out.

I want to get back to henna but I'm too lazy to drive to the Indian store. Oh and I tries Benenite sp clay and I was cool.

All in all a more simplified approach.

I just use natural products and try to keep things as simple. I used to get my hair cornrowed every 2 weeks but since June I get it redone every 4 weeks.

Friday evening before I shampoo, I undo my cornrows and oil my hair with organic VCO and leave overnight.

The following evening I will do a hot oil treatment on dry hair with heat for 30 minutes with one of the following:

- Normal Protein -Mixture of Aubrey Organics GBP, Raw Castor Oil & Organic Honey.
- Light Protein - Mixture of Aubrey Organics HSR, Raw Castor Oil & Organic Honey & Organic molasses
- Strong Protein -Mixture of Aubrey Organics Blue Algae Hair Mask (twice a year)

I then do the following:

- Shampoo with Black soap or Aubrey Organics White Camellia.
- Deep condition with Aubrey Organics White Camellia
- ACV rinse with added organic tea tree & lavender essential oils

I then air dry overnight in four twists. The following morning I will oil my hair and get my hair cornrowed again

I also do the following

- Alternate days moisturise with rosewater.
- Seal with homemade oil concoction and oil scalp.
- Condition wash with diluted Aubrey Organics White Camelia each week.

Clarify every 2 or 3 months with Bentonite Clay

Lately it's been not as good as it could be l but...

Shampoo once a week with Avalon Organics shampoo (I have a few of them). Sometimes I pre-condition first with Aubrey GPB (dry, no heat). After shampooing I apply loads of Elucence conditioner (my one hair product with parabens). Continue shower then detangle with a Denman (I'm getting sick of it though-- the bristle part keeps sliding off the handle!).

Rinse and apply either Kinky Curly Knot Today or Giovanni leave-in (not the one in the spray bottle). Apply Kinky Curly CC and dry in a bun.

I have been falling off on daily moisture but when I do, I apply at night either castor oil, Oyin Whipped Pudding when I have it, or lately what's left of my Hairveda Ends Cream 2 oz followed by the oil (not the Vatika frosting but the one in the bottle--vatika was terrible for me-- too much coconut oil doesn't agree with me).

I am on a mission to simplify my regimen and so far I am getting there.
-Pre-poo (if I feel like it) with Ojon restoratives treatment. I am currently experimenting with an oil mix of palm kernel, olive and JBCO. That Ojon is pricey.
-I co-wash weekly with herbal essences Hello Hydration or megatek cream rinse (only using this up, not enough slip for me)
-Clarify once or twice a month with either of: baking soda mixed with conditoner, Giovanni 50/50 clarifying/hydrating 'poo, CON clarifying 'poo or baby shampoo (I just swipe my baby's:blush:)
-Deep condition with (see, this is where my PJism reigns supreme!) either of: pantene R & N mask, Ojon hydrating cond, Joico Intense hydrator, Miss key 10 en1, ORS, Silk elements mega silk, Curls Asian tea cond, Olive oil/Aloe cholesterol cond..I'm sure theres more but these are in current rotation.
-blot with a T-shirt. Apply my leave-in, seal, twist then rock a twist out a few days later.
My leave-ins - KC Knot today orGiovanni direct leave-in or Oyin whipped pudding or sheamoisture sheabutter leave-in. Now that we are in winter I mix at least 2 of them together for extra moisture.
I seal with Oyin burnt sugar pomade, JBCO or monoi pomade.
Oh I also henna (Jamila) every 6 to 8 weeks and trim when my hair desperately needs it.

Washing: I use a moisturising shampoo once a week. I apply the shampoo to my scalp and let the shampoo run through the rest of my hair when rinsing. I use a clarifying shampoo when there is a build up of products on my hair.
Shampoo: Elasta QP Creme conditioning shampoo, ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo.

Deep Conditioning: I section my hair into four and apply a deep conditioner and then detangle with a wide-toothed comb. I leave it on for 30 minutes using a heat cap or 1 hour without a heat cap. If I’m in a rush then I would use a Herbal Essences Conditioner and leave it on for 5 minutes.
Deep Conditioners: Lustrasilk Shea Butter cholesterol, Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose / GPB (both as a DC or Pre-poo).

Cowashing: I cowash every other day with a Herbal Essences Conditioner: Hello Hydration, Frizz fighter or It’s a Curl Thing.

Leave-in conditioning: I apply a leave-in conditioner when my hair is still dripping wet, then I tie the ends loosely and leave to airdry.
Leave-in conditioners: ORS Olive Oil Lotion, Shea Moisture Shea Butter, Mixed Chicks Leave-In, Blended Beauty Curl Styling Butter, Giovanni Direct Leave-In Conditioner.

At night: I loosely tie my hair back at the ends and sleep using a satin pillow case or a silk scarf and bonnet. If my hair is feeling dry then I would use Elasta QP Mango Butter or Avocado Oil.

Styling: I scrunch my hair with water to reform the curls then loosely bun or braid my hair. I smooth down the stray hairs on the top and sides using a small amount of Fantasia IC gel and a Denman brush (lightly).

I wash my hair every two to three weeks with a moisturizing shampoo (I use Creme of Nature, red or green label), deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner (ORS replenishing pak or Keracare Humecto creme conditioner) and sit under the hair dryer for 45 minutes. I then rinse my hair, moisturize it with Carol's Daughter black vanilla leave-in conditioner mixed with water and aloe vera gel and seal with an oil while putting two strand twists in my hair.

For about a year my staples have been pure yellow shea butter, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, garnier long and strong conditioner, and occasionally bumble and bumble sunday shampoo for clarifying.

I rinse my hair and scalp with the oil and vinegar, detangle 1-2 times a week with a denman and the conditioner, and co-wash 1-2 times a week. I would then apply my shea butter. I usually wear my hair in a bun or twist, I rarely wear it out.

Here is my hair 2.5 years after my BC. I started with an inch or so of hair
Photo775.jpg

But I am about to change up a bit! I finally decided to try the Palmer's hair line, specifically the coconut deep conditioner and hair milk. I love the way the hair milk felt on DD's hair, and these maybe become my new staples, replacing the Garnier and yellow shea butter.

The only reason I am switching up is because I would like to try something new.

Edited to add- the only vitamin I take is a Flintstones daily chewable!

-Shampoo 1x a week w/Abba Pure Moisture or Abba Pure Color Protect Shampoo.
-Deep Condition for 1hr 1x week w/Abba Pure Color Protect or Mizani Moisturfuse
-Detangle, apply leave-in conditioner & style. I usually twist my hair and leave the twists in for 2 weeks.
-Wear a wig as a protective style for the winter since it's cooler. In the summer I was just rocking twists and twist outs.

1. Co-wash as needed.
2. DC 2-3 times per week.
3. Bentonite or rhassoul clay once per week before DC.
4. Yogurt and ayurvedic herbs mixed with garlic and fenugreek 1-2 times per week.
5. As of this week I have started putting coffee in all my mixes and MY I AM IMPRESSED- IT HELPS WITH SHEDDING LIKE NOTHING ELSE! Garlic reduced the shedding. Coffee seems to have eliminated it (I am hoping- washed yesterday and for the first in ages- no shedding). Keeping my fingers crossed it continues.
6. Always use a leave in conditioner followed by oil or butters.
Sleep on silk pillowcases and silk scarves.
7. Henna monthly.
8. Wear hair loose with gel or bun.

BTW, any suggestions would be great...

1. Co-wash with TJ Nourish about 4-5x a week.
2. DC 2 times a week with AO HSR and mayonnaise.
3. ACV Rinse
4. Shampoo weekly due to DC and leave ins.
5. Always use a leave in conditioner (Shea Moisture) or QB AOHC + OHHB
6. Henna + mayo monthly.
7. Wig upon wig upon wig.

normally i pre poo, wash, deep condition and braid once a week. if i get tired of braids and twists i co wash and do a puff or chunky braid out. i use many products but my routine is very simple.

I try to keep my regimen as simple as possible: Wash, DC, Moisturize and seal
Over the last 6months my regimen has dwindled down to the following...

Wash: Every 1-2 weeks depending on the style: shampoo with Elucence moisture or Redken Real Control Shampoo, rinse again with baking soda.... I have to have baking soda!

Deep condition: once a week (sometimes with steam sometimes without)
Redken Real Control Conditioner, Intense Renewal Mask, Aussie Moist

Protien: Mane and Tail Original or Roux mendex Hair Repair Treatment

Search and destroy: Once a week (mostly when the hubby is watching football on Sundays) I buy new shears every 3-4 months

Dust: Every 3-4 months

After EVERY wash I have to Rollerset (habit) if Im being lazy I'll twist my hair for a twistout and wear that for a week...

I prefer for my hair to be stretched out, for me this equals, more styling options, less single strand knots, and easier detangling on wash day... I keep it Moisturised with Carols Daughter Some of Maugerites Magic, and seal with Coconut Oil.

My styles are: Braidouts, Buns, Bantu Knots

I finger comb to get shed hair out daily...

Ive found that I can DC less often if my products are doing what they promise to do in the first place...

Wash/DC once a week.

Day before wash day:

Pre-poo by wetting hair fully and adding ORS replenishing pack with a bunch of olive oil and bun it up til the next day. :yep:

On wash day:

Rinse hair. Clarify with Aveda Detoxifier. Rinse. Add Aphogee 2-step. Rinse. Twist into 8 big twists. Add coconut milk and lime as my DC.

Next, steam hair by putting a towel in boiling water or heat in the microwave. Put a showercap over twisted hair. Then the steaming hot towel, and finally, a final showercap. Sit under dryer to "keep the steam going".

Rinse out DC. Detangle hair, one twist at a time, using a Denman brush. Slather on some Lekair cholesterol (best detangler EVER! lol) to detangle with the Denman brush.

When done with the whole head, rinse really well and add in Giovanni Direct topped with a tad bit of oil (I like jojoba). Brush brush brush the whole head using a soft boar bristle brush and then bun it up. I always bun in the shower as my last step, and I even put my scarf on in the shower, or IMMEDIATELY after. I find that brushing it forms the waves and gets my hair to lie down perfectly....and tying the scarf over it immediately holds those waves down when I take the scarf off the next day :yep:

I copied what I do to my hair from my fotki page:

My routine is fairly simple. I shampoo* my hair 1-2 times a week, and deep condition as I feel it's needed (1-2 times a month maybe). I usually “pre-poo” before washing my hair by misting it with water and adding an inexpensive conditioner. I clarify my hair as needed, to handle any product build-up on my hair (which works out to be every other month roughly).

I try to manipulate my hair as little as possible, and only comb my hair in the shower when my hair is completely wet. I use a Jilbere shower comb for most of my detangling and do this holding my hair under the water spray (which I've found makes detangling much easier). I still use my Denman brush to detangle, but have started using it less (because I find I lose less hair without it).

Once my hair is shampooed and conditioned, I put in my leave-in moisturizer by smoothing it onto my hair in sections (no parting or combing is done during this part—only finger styling/manipulation—to minimize frizziness). After that, I make sure to seal the moisture in by using a nice oil (which I smooth over my strands, concentrating it at the ends).

My current favorite products:
Organic Root Stimulator Creamy Aloe Shampoo (esp. nice in hard water)
Roux Porosity Control Shampoo (helps my hair retain moisture better after I use it)
Dove Intense Moisture Conditioner (all time favorite conditioner)
Aussie Moist Conditioner (for my pre-poos)
Lustrailk Shea Butter Cholesterol Plus (I use it both as a deep conditioner & occasionally as a leave-in)
Africa's Best Liquid Hair Mayo (my staple leave-in)
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (from GNC)
Proclaim Olive Spray-On Glosser (smells wonderful and works great)

* Sometimes I use more than one shampoo while washing my hair (one for the first lather and a different one for the second lather—it just depends on what I feel my hair needs).

I try to keep what I do to my hair very, very simple (or I'll surely never do it). I need my routine to be low maintenance.

I wash with diluted Dr. Bronners and condition with Giovanni weekly.
I then apply aphogee 2min and detangle with Aussie moist and put into 7 braids.

I apply paul mitchell leave in let them air dry and wear a braid out throught the week. Seal with an oil or shea butter mixture. AVC rinse.

If i wear it straight(ive only flatironed once so far) i do the same except after my hair air drys, i comb it out and flat iron via FHI platform.

I've been so busy and tired lately that I've totally given into KISS.
I wash 1x a week, co-wash 2x a week, and you'd see me in a bun or updo most of the week, and maybe a braidout once a week.
I moisturize daily and just throw on a bonnet for bed time.
I'll probably update my picture album near Christmas b/c I want to do one last length check for the year (Grrr! C'mon BSL!!!!).
