Newly natural here, I am working on a regimen, just wondering how often to you guys deep conditioning, and how is that working for you?

i do it once a week. now, it's working fine. i used to dc about twice a week because of my high porosity hair that just didnt hold onto moisture and would just be dry 2 seconds after dc'ing or moisturizing...now that i have a pretty good hold on knowing what works for me as far as keeping moisture goes, i don't feel like i need to do it as often.

What she says.

1x a week. My hair tends to stay dry so I could probably do it more often. I plan to cowash instead vs. doing the 2x a week.

I don't know how to answer the question. How is deep conditioning defined? Length of time? Ingredients in product?

Can we define deep conditioning before I answer?

Does that mean using a product labled as "deep conditioner," or does it mean letting your product sit for some certain amount of time maybe with heat or steam and then rinsing? Maybe it means a combination of the two.

Once weekly. After my mthly protein tx twice for that week then back to once weekly. I also found products that helps keep moisture in...this has been my struggle but now my hair is in a happy place!

Once or twice a week. More often, it's once a week. But I love experimenting with products and doing treatments, so if I try something that makes my hair angry, I deep condition right afterwards to apologize.
Also, heat styling, protein, or henna treatments get deep conditioning right before and afterwards.

HTH! :-)

Each time I wash my hair which ranges from every week in the Summer to every 2/3 weeks if sick or Winter.

I was going to ask the same thing kinda.

I lazy DC every wash day (Sunday). I apply my conditioner, put on a plastic cap, a Bonnet and a scarf and let my body heat warm up my hair for about 30 minutes. It works I swear lol. I loathe sitting under a dry.

I guess there's also the thought of "what qualifies as a deep conditioner?" because I use all my conditioners like this whether it says deep conditioner on the label or not.

I use products that say dc a couple of times a week. I cowash with conditioner a couple of times a week.

I can't see any mentions on my IPhone. PM me if it is a must see. Allons y

I only do this once a week. From start to finish it probably takes me like 2-3 hours. How do you guys find time to DC so often

Ugh I'm so bad at keeping up with deep conditioning, so I'd probably say once a month. I'm cowashing now so I don't lose a lot of moisture.
