Naturals...how do you elongate your curls?

I use a deep conditioner as a leave-in. You have to be careful to pick one that doesn't lead to flakes and dulling. The less moisture your hair needs, the plumper the curls, the more they will clump and the heavier they will be which will aid in them staying in place.

Also, practices that may dry out your scalp or products that dry out your hair and scalp should be avoided. This varies for some -hair journals are helpful in tracking how your hair responds to a product over a long period of time.

Using "rinse-out" conditioners as a leave-in can do this as well. Plenty of which I've reviewed on my blog. HTH.

I've seen several tutorials (Miss Jessie's etc) that elongate the curls with low-heat using a blow dryer once the hair has set.

You could also try letting your hair dry while banded, twisted, or braided. All of which help encourage clumping & curling.
