It's so sensitive and I don't know why. It hurts when I touch it, it hurts when I scratch it, it even hurts when I'm not doing anything to it. what could be causing this? what can I do about the pain in the meantime?
thanks

congratualations! your hair is probably growing quite fast. this happened when i started using surge and castor oil. this has also happened to people using MSM. for me, my body became accustommed and the headaches/ pain went away.

Sounds like you are having a growth spurt. This usually happens to me when my hair growth rate is faster than normal. Not to worry, when it is all over you will probably love having that added length.

Right now I have three sore spots in my scalp. Just started having the headaches too. I am getting very close to bra strap length.

Your scalp hurts how? Sharp pain like you get when there's a cut and acid or salt is put on the cut? Or dull pain like you get when you have a bruise or if someone hits you? When did it start? What did you do before it started? Did you get a perm, tight braids, a glue weave or change your regimen in any way?

You need to give us more info in order for anyone to recognize the condition and know what to suggest. If you did nothing out of the ordinary then I don't know. Perhaps it's what the girls have said: a growth spurt. Never had one

so can't comment on that.

it's more of a dull pain, not as intense as I make it sound(excuse my dramatics). It still hurts though. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. I'm about six weeks into my relaxer, but it hasn't hurt before. so I don't know what's up. I hope it is a growth spurt, if that's the case the pain is worth it

lthomas, woo hoo, way to grow! my hair is layered but the longest part is at bra strap.

I've had the same problem...my scalp is extreamly tender, so much so I can't even touch it. This happened about a week and a half after adding msm powder and biotin to my vitamin regime. I chalked it up to rapid hair growth... now that I think about it, it doen't hurt so much anymore.
