You know what else I have noticed when I have taken these braids out.

My scalp hurts..I scratch it sort of stings, what could that be and what can I use to help it?

I heard in one thread about aloe vera gel to help burning scalp (relaxer) I think it will help!

Yeah I thought about that as well but I was like I didn't get a perm so I didn't think that would help..

But I may try that...

I used to get a tender scalp. I think this is from wearing tight ponytails & buns. The braids were probably put in tightly also. Try to style your hear in loose styles and keep you scalp clean. This should help.

Another thing, I really feel your pain. I think our hair is very similar. I was probably in your shoes about a year ago. Right now my hair is at the bottom of my neck just brushing the tops of my shoulders (8.5 - 9 inches) My hair was usually about 4-6 inches my entire life. This is the longest my hair has ever been in my life. I just started to really care for my hair in February or March of this year but I have noticed a difference. I am hoping and praying for the best. You will definitely reach your goals just do your research, remain positive, and be patient.

This week I am going to go to the beauty supply and rack up on most of the things I think that is going to help my hair get back in shape..

I have had long hair before but it's funny when I was growing up in NYC a guy told that I would have problems with my edges when I got older..I didn't believe him and now I am 31 and got issues like crazy..
