My hair feels too light and bouncy

Less than 4 hours ago I took down my 2 month old box braids and it has grown quite a bit. I knew I would not be able to enjoy my bit of growth with my raggedy ends so I scheduled an appointment at Ulta. My main object at first was to get the end trimmed rather than the style. Well, it was great minus the use of small combs and the fact that my hair is texlaxed with about 3 inches of new growth.

My hair came out so light and airy. It feels like nothing is on my head and it just blows with the wind. My hair has that sheen(not shine) to it that resembles that of virgin indian remy extensions. I was so surprised by the positive results since the stylist used a flat iron spray. I thought that I would have the typical results that I've gotten from Chi Straight guard. This time was different. Yeah, some strands do feel like they are a bit fused together, but my hair is soft and I can run my fingers through it.

So what is my problem with this? I fear that my hair is going to puff up in all of this humidity( I live in Alabama). My hair feels so odd being this light weighted. I really want to be able to create this same effect in the future. I just need it to last for more than a day. What do you guys do to maintain your hair when it is like this?

By the way the stylist used all Redken products. Im not sure of the shampoo and conditioner. All I saw was her use about 5 to 7 pumps of the Satin 02 ultimate blow dry lotion and 2 to 3 pumps of the smooth down heat glide protective smoother to blow dry my hair. She used a large Chi flat paddle brush. Then sprayed the iron silk 07 ultra straightening spray on each section when flat ironing. She also flat ironed my hair ever so slightly damp.

I can't take any. My camera phone sucks and my web cam is messed up due to my boyfriend stepping on my lap top. I have nothing else to use in my dorm room. You just have to take my word for it.

Im not trying to show off my hair. Im really scared that my hair is going to go POOOF. I dont have any hair tools in my room. All i have is a bottle of shampoo, conditoner and braid spray. There is nothing else in my room. All my hair products are at home. To top that I have no hats. So I need to make this work for at least a week.

lol joke:look:

Some people just don't know how good they have it.

"Oh noes! My hair! It's too full of body and just bounces all over the place!" :lachen:

Not personally making fun of you, OP, but I know a lot of people would love to have your "problem." :yep:

Can you run out and buy a flatiron? Even if its just a cheap Revlon for $25 bucks at Walgreens? Worse case scenario - wrap your hair in a doobie (all you need is a brush and about 10 bobby pins).

When I had relaxed hair and wanted to guarantee a good 2nd hair day I slept sitting up on my pillow. I felt like a giraffe LOL

How do you usually take care of a flat iron job when you have it done?

I haven't flat ironed my hair to wear as style in forever. The only time I've done it with in the last 12 months was to do a BKT and that is it. I dont deal with flat ironed hair. I only deal with roller sets, braids or crammed under a hat.

I actually went into Ulta thinking I could get a roller set. I've seen it done a few times before in this Ulta, but that was by a black stylist. The white lady stylist today basically told me that they don't do rollersets. Though, the way she say said it sounded more like she doesn't do rollersets.
