I am 9 weeks post relaxer and I was getting bored with roller sets and braid outs and buns so I decided to buy a chi flat iron. While my hair was still wet I applied motions wrap setting foam and the chi silk infusion. I sat under the dryer until my hair was about 80% dry then I used a blow dryer with a comb attachment. Then I used the chi iron. Why is my hair stiff and not swinging back and forth like Ateyaaa's youtube flat iron tutorial?

Here is a link to the tutorial i used to try to get silky flat ironed hair...

Did you use any other heat protection product? I don't think Silk Infusion is a heat protector.

I'm thinking it was the motions wrap setting foam.It prob. made the hair stiff and heavy.

I agree with the above. It was probably the wrap and set lotion.

I think it was definitely the wrap lotion. That plus blowdrying dried your hair out. Next time, try a moisturizing leave-in with CHI SI. I'd also cut out blowdrying and airdry or rollerset first
