Simplicity & Peacefulness
(I posted this in OT and it was suggested I post it here.)
I did a protein DC and landed in the Urgent Care Center at 7 am on a Saturday morning...See What Had Happened Was...
I was reading on here about protein treatments for natural hair and I came across several posts that basically said that naturals don't need a hard protein and they can get away with "just adding an egg" to their conditioner.
So, okay, I mix up my egg and conditioner and put it on my head with a plastic cap followed by a scarf followed by a winter hat and went to bed. It was runny all night and I kept wiping my face even as I slept. The next morning I washed it out...and washed my sheets!
Two days later my ears start aching but I kinda brushed it off because it was mild. Two days after that the pain "crunk" all the way up. The next night the pain was excruciating, like fire, my ear was tomato red and I could literally feel heat radiating off my face. I was in full blown infection! :burning::burning::burning:
I looked up the earliest urgent care center and got there at 7 am. The doctor told me I had a really bad ear infection that would require both oral meds and ear drops. Then he said in a tone, "Do you have any idea what could have gotten in your ear?" I sheepishly told him about the egg and condtioner. He said, "That'll do it." And I swear he was looking at me like, "Black women..."
Neva eva again! And that cheap, homemade protein conditioner cost me over $100 in medical costs!
So for anybody considering doing any type of deep conditioner, I would suggest not sleeping in it overnight if possible and protect your ears from conditioner run-off.
