Recipe please and thank you!
Sure thing,
There aren’t too many things to add, but my main goal is just trying to get the Shea Butter thinned out and a bit more fluffy.
I’ll usually mix the Shea Butter with either Almond oil or Jojoba oil. I’m not too fond of the blends because they’re a bit on the heavy side.
I’ll take usually 4-8 ounces of Shea Butter, and whip it with 1-2 ounces of Almond or Jojoba oil. Just to get it fluffy, but you can always add more.
Sometimes I’ll put a few drops of essential oils in the mix. Rosemary, peppermint, Sage, Citronella, etc.
After that I just warm it up using the double boiler method, after cooling, it should be fluffed enough to melt when you rub it in your palms, and I just apply it from root to tips, cover with a plastic cap, use my heat cap for 15-30 mins, and co-wash my roots and the water rinse the excess of and air dry.
That’s really it. The melting part takes the longest, but before I melt it I just manually whip the oils into the Shea butter which takes a while too.
If I want a protein boost, I’ll mix in some ORS replenishing Pak. 1-2 ounces. I don’t mix it until after the Shea mixture has cooled from initially melting it down with the oils, then I’ll whip it together one last time. It mixes a lot smoother by this time since it’s been thinned down.
