What is the name of your favorite moisturizer? Is it creme or water based? Is it store brought or concocted @ home? How do you use it? Does it weigh the hair down? Does it cause build-up? How long have you been using it?

**Sorry if something like this was already posted**

Africa's Best Liquid Mayo is my favorite. It's water based and is silicone free which I love. Doesn't weigh my hair down either. I have been using it for months now. It's great stuff.

My hair is currently braided, but i have concocted my own hair moisturizers, from other products that i have to help with this, because one thing just didn't work for me. All ingredients are by eye measures, no exact science, but of all the ingredients it is mostly water, this helps with even distribution and eliminates overkill of the products.

I alternate sprays (am/pm)

My concotions are:

in one spray bottle i have -
s-Curl
African Braid Spray
clove oil
water

Another spray bottle

Mane & Tail hair strengthener
ORS olive oil cream
Suave conditioner
Mixture of hair oils(jojoba/emu/almond/castor)
Aussie Hair repair
Water

When i take my hair out of braids it is not dry at all and feels pretty strong. I am in following that braid challenge of not taking a break from braids for a year, so i needed as much back up as possible to help with this monster challenge.. lol

My favorite moisturizer is ors olive oil in a jar with its mineral oil and all. It's a water based creme moisturizer. IMO it does kinda weigh your hair down, but i wear protective styles all the time,so it doesn't matter. I've been using it since the beginning of my hair journey, sept06.

S-Curl hasn't done me wrong yet, but my hair also likes plain ole water. Tonight I tried a concotion of Scurl, a bit of Infusium(only because post relaxer my hair felt a bit mushy), Castor Oil and water. I'm hoping its a keeper.

I second this. :yep: S-Curl is brilliant. It only weighs my hair down if I overdo it. Just a little sprayed in my hands and rubbing it in works wonders. I don't really mix it with anything, but I do apply it to my hair while it's damp or wet rather than diluting it.

Same here!! Oh and s-curl is my favorite for when I'm wearing protective styles! It leaves my air dried hair butta SOFT!!!!:spinning:

NTM silk-touch Leave-in- watery cream

Profectiv Long & Healthy- Glycerin based

Profectiv Breakfree- watery cream w/protein

Keracare Jojoba Oil Moisturizer- Cream (I use it as more of a sealer, than moisturizer)

Right now I'm loving Elasta QP's Mango Butter and it's water based but has a nice creamy texture and I love the smell.

my favorite creme leave in moisturizers are water based.

I use UBH lotion creme and also Herbal Essence's break's over creme. I love love love those two!

My hair loves Giovanni Direct leave-in as a daily moisturizer it doesnt weigh my hair down at all like most moisturizers ive tried and maintains the bounce and swing of my hair and keeps it soft.
For wash n go's i use Eqyss Avocado Mist moisturizer

Qhemet's Amla & Olive Heavy Cream----it's very creamy. I believe the first 3 ingredients are castor oil, olive oil and distilled water
(and it contains MSM which is good for the scalp)

Robin's Afro Detangler :yep:

The ingredients:

avocado/mango/shea butter, vitamin E, avocado oil, almond oil, wheat germ oil, lecithin, green tea, germaben II, mild fragrance.

I have three favorite moisturizers:

~John Frieda Frizz Ease Relax Daily Surface Replinisher: This is my light, water-based moisturizer. I mainly use it on the length of my hair because it absorbs very quickly & doesn't weigh my hair down. I usually use it 3-4 times a week. Doesn't leave any build-up at all.

~BB Mayonnaise & Honey Strengthening Creme: This is my heavier cream moisturizer that I mainly use on the ends of my hair, nightly, to keep them soft & split-free. Doesn't leave build-up or residue.

~Isoplus Black Magic Moisturizing Spray: A water-based liquid moisturizer that I spray on my ends after using the BB Mayo & Honey. I also use it on my nape to keep it moist & tangle free. If I run out of Razac Leave-In (which rarely happens  ), I will use this spray as my setting agent for rollersets. No build-up or residue.

I have been using all of these moisturizers for over a year & they are my staples fo' life!!!

I love ORS Olive Oil Lotion...it weighs my hair down but its all good because I primarily use it for protective styles. Pro-line also makes a good product...some type of afro comb out product...comes in a light brown bottle with a pump spray.

Cinnabuns - I al LOVIN your siggie!
