The year is running by so fast. The weather is getting fabulous!

Mother's Day sales are on now and fast approaching. As we enjoy the season what products are the equivalent of a double eagle and which are triple-bogeys?

HITS
- Tangle tamer for the boy and denman (revisit after a 2 yr hiatus) for both of us
- Ouidad Krly kid leave in for the boy. gives a little 'hold' and definition - lasts past the first hat wear.
- Homemade unpetroleum jelly mixed with grapeseed oil and palm shortening for sealing

Not sure yet
- Shea moisture restorative condish as a LI
- Shea moisture thickening milk

I have gotten spoiled with products that give multi-day moisture without effort. These don't give that. I love the way it smells though.

Hit:

Dabur Vatika Oil: Why ain't nobody told me about this stuff? My hair was so SOFT! It wasn't as smooth as it is with Hempseed, but after rinsing and shampooing my hair felt lush and soft, which was amazing because I chelated and clarified *WIN! :happydance:

DB Peach Kernel Hair Milk topped w/ DB Tucuma Butter Moisture Whip: DB is showin' her ba'hind with all this deliciousness that is her products. I've been using this combination for 3 weeks now and my hair always drys soft. I REALLY like this combo :lick:.

Claudie deep moisturizing conditioner- staple status as off tonight.
Revisited hit:
Qhemet BRBC- best hair moisturizer for my hair and scalp. So happy it's getting warm, so i can use it again.
Miss:
Anita grant whipped butter. I been using these on and off for about 2 months now, and i have to say i am not impressed. It doesn't matter how little bit i use, my hair looks and feel greasy as if the butters just sit on my strands. They provide no shine, and my twistout just don't come out right. I do love the sapote pomade though. I used the monoi de tahiti, and the lavender and sandalwood.

Hit: Nupur 9 Henna. I never thought I'd become a henna head, but now it's official. I love the shine and color vs my natural flat color.

Hits:

Shea Moisture Yucca & Baobab Thickening Moisture Mist - Hesitated on getting this but I'm so glad I did. It's a really great refresher.

Miss: Donna Marie Super Butter Creme -- hair felt coated and hard. Used it multiple times with the same result. Definitely won't repurchase.

divachyk I wasn't impressed by the Super Buttercream either. It's a shame, because it smells good and the name is irresistible.

Just started with Dabur Vatika Oil after a couple of trips to the Indian market. I've read on the boards where some have used it to replacejust about every oil for both hair and body.

IrrationalThoughts, could we get more info on this homemade unpretroleum jelly? :yep:

Hit: Suave Sleek shampoo and conditioner. Was really surprised it turned out well. My sister said she had used it so the pj in me made me go get some. And of course loved the price!!!!!

Hit: Everyday Shea Moisturizing Conditioner.

I use it in my spray bottle mixed with distilled water and seal with grease. I've been skipping the cream due to pure laziness. My hair is still moisturized, defined and shiny curls for days.

I also use it after I co-wash to moisturize my hair overnight before my morning DC.

tiffers, exactly! I pick that mess up during an AY flash sale. Fail!

Hits:
Spritz made from the leftover product stuck in the corners of my AO bottles.
Oyin Hair Dew - awesome and moisturizing!
Avocado oil - my staple for sealing.
Mizani H20 - hair maintenance from breakage.
Jar of Joe

I had bought some a long time ago from amazon and it went rancid on me :-( this oil is awesome! I have to get this again. I need to find a local indian market or a trusty seller. I'm scared to get it from amazon again...

Claudie's Murumuru Acai Hair Butter -
I used this to retwist my hair yesterday and it made it really soft at first but at the end of the day my hair was quite dry and I had some SSK's. I had to retwist using Qhemet's Burdock Root Cream (which I loveee) so we will see if it lasts longer! :)

myronnie

Its the wax. The Ceramide Pomade does the same thing to me :(.

EnExitStageLeft
I really think so.. *looks at the ingredients* It doesn't have "wax" but it does have cetearyl olivate which is just cetearyl alcohol with added olive oil fatty acids..so I'm confused why it's leaving me with dry hair the next day..but I'm pretty sure I have overly porous hair..
Man I'm kind of sad that my love for Claudie's leave-ins are slightly dwindling..I'm still in love with her rinse-out and deep conditioners though and using her leaveins to detangle on wet hair. But dry hair... :nono: no ma'am.
This Qhemet Burdock is the BOMB. I can't believe I slept on it for so long!! If it lasts me throughout the day I will be so happy :drunk:

@myronnie

I used the QB BRBC tonight to LCOB my hair and its super soft and silky smooth. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I also love that a quarter size amount can thoroughly moisturize my entire head. I have 2 8 oz. jars and they'll last forever lol.

I'm in love with it too!!!! I twisted up my hair using so little product and it just SOAKED in man! My hair soft from the root to the ends! I can see this helping so much with my SSKs because my individual strands have a lot more "slip" to them and aren't getting tangled around each other! I'm holding my breath for the final verdict but man this stuff is giving me an awesome first impression!

I got the amla and olive heavy cream and I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to use it..I kinda grabbed it up because it was the last jar :look: But since the Qhemet headquarters is so close they probably restock quite a bit.. I'm guessing it's going to be more of a sealant...

Qhemet is definitely the business though!

Hit: Silk Dreams Mocha Silk Hair Milk-so moisturizing that it left my hands soft and supple.

Meh!: As I am Hair Milk- had more of an oily consistency than SD. It didn't moisturize like the SD.

I am happy your qb brbc is working great. It is truly an awesome moisturizer. The heavy cream I just used for the first time yesterday. I had it for a while but was scared cause of the aloe Vera in it. That thing gives me dry crunchy hair. I'm touching my hair now and twistout is still soft like butter. But one thing though, use as little as possible. When she says heavy, she meant it. My first few twists got a bit greasy cause I used too much. I first moisturized with brbc, and twisted with the heavy cream which also served as a sealant. If you go light, you will get perfect moisture retention.
