for me this product was a hit and a miss!

I got Fantasia IC gel with sparkle lites, members said they used it for their curly looks, I tried using it by shingling through my hair and it did an okay job, it really weighed down my hair it I got no curl definition...on that part it was a miss.

I tried it again to smooth out my NG and it really did a great job, brought out the waves and smooth down my edges, my hair was very shiny and well moisturized.

suave humectant

:yay: I've been waiting for this post to come up. These prodcts I got to use in April so they are my hits and misses for May:

Hits:
The Cream & The Conditioner: These are both by Paul Mitchell and they both worked very well on my hair to my surprise. I'm looking into the generic versions of these sold at Sally's.

VO5 Blueberries & Cream: Works great for co washes and cheap too.

Salon Selcetives Completely Drenched: Another good conditioner, perfect for co washes. I found at the dollar store while looking for DDTA.

Misses:
The Rinse: Another Paul Mitchell product. Hated it! It did not detangle instead it created tangles, it provided NO slip, and made my hair feel rough.

Holloywood Beauty Olive Oil Cholesterol Cream: I was very disappointed in this product because it worked so well for my daughter's natural hair. It made my hair tangled and dry, even after I added olive oil to it.

Garnier Fructis Fortifying Deep Conditioner mixed w/ olive oil

Are you referring to the Long and Strong system? My hair love that. I have mix it with evoo though.

Hits:
Aubrey Organic's Honeysuckle Rose Shampoo and Conditioner (Oooo the slippage, ladies)
Coconut Oil (Used with my leave-in)
Almond Oil (A little mixed with conditioner goes a long way)
Carrot Juice (If my nails are growing this fast, I wonder what exactly my hair's doing up there...)
Aubrey Organic's Sea Buckthorn Leave-In Conditioner

Misses:
Putting oils in my hair when it's not wet... this isn't new, but the success of using thse new oils on my wet hair just brings the point home a little more.
Mane 'n Tail Hair Strengthener Daily Leave-In - The product itself isn't bad. But it isn't so great that it makes up for that cough syrup smell. Yuck.
PhytoSpecific PhytoRelaxer - I hate to say it, but after two times I just can't deny the truth. It just doesn't like my hair.

Hits
ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Pak

I kind of have to agree with you Brazen. I love Phyto relaxer for 2-3 weeks and then after that it's downhill for me. It just doesn't last long on my head.. I'm moving on to a lye relaxer. I still think Phyto would be great for a lot of people.

I'm with you. We're not bashing Phyto! Just admitting defeat. Index 2 didn't even texturize my hair. Twice. But that also means it won't be harsh on people with,er, less resistant hair.

Hits:

Pibbs 514 Quik Dry Hair dryer (I wanted the Pibbs 518, but it was discontinued:().
My rollersets dry in 30 min!!! :woot:

@FashionistaNY.....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......

I'm playin, I'm playin....everybody can't love the Humecto.
(Mo is still wondering if she used the watery bottle version or the creamy, thick one in the tub?)

@ Brazen & Jazmin - the Phyto users still gots love for you...no worries...lol...

@ Bag Lady - thanks for keeping my NTM on the shelves, showin love..

I found the products at a Bss that sells hard to find black owned products called Settles in Sassygirl's town.
Pm with your Addy and I will send you some.

My hit for the month of May is:

100% Aloe Vera Gel by AO - I mix this with mositurizers like CD Hair Milk and CD Marguerite's Magic. For sleeking my edges and my braid outs. My braid out comes out very crinkly and soft with shine. I'm in love.

and

CD Hair Milk - I use this on wet hair only. Mainly for briad and twist outs.

Rosemary Rinse (made from tea bags) with a pinch of Rosemary Oil. Great tingle sensation.

No Misses

Elasta QP Breakage Control Serum - this is the most underrated product in the Elasta QP lineup in my opinion

coconut oil

Wella Lifetex Energy Up Bionic Hair Tonic - smells like cheap mens cologne hence why it is a miss. Waste of eight bucks.

Hit:

Liv Creme

Kemi Oyl unrefined shea butter

Using a wide tooth bone comb instead of a K cutter on damp hair
