I was curious if anyone here has found their maintenance length? Meaning, you knew once your hair got past a certain point, it would be more than you cared to deal with, and you were simply content with what you currently have?

I keep cutting mines back, and it occured to me that subconsciously, this may be what I'm doing....

I haven't reached my goal just yet(brastrap) but for some reason lately, I've been thinking about cutting my hair back to just above the shoulder and maintaining that length. I had the cutest little flip...I also have a few layers that I so want to get rid of and that may be the reason I feel this way...

BlackLotus...beautiful handle, by the way,

I definitely have. For me, derriere-length is ideal. My hair at mid-thigh and knee length was "a bit much" FOR ME. I say that because the washing time was more than I wanted. But, I have to say that it was a good experience in just letting it continue to grow because I would never have known. Before that, I was awfully tempted to go back to waist-length which I really liked the best even after I got to butt-length.

I haven't reached my maintenance length yet. I'm not even sure what that will be. I guess when it starts to be too time consuming.

I have to admit I am 3 inches from bra strap and at times I have started getting tired of the maintenence i.e how long it takes to comb thru it after a wash etc...... but that feeling last about 1 min before I stop myself and then quickly thank the Lord for helping to achieve my hair goals. After that I quickly smile and am extra careful with my hair as I continue my journey.

o: Quite impressive...you wouldn't happen to have old pictures would you?

Tee Tee,
To be honest, I think the amount maintenance is another factor that keeps driving me to pick up the scissors...maybe if I just trim off a little bit more...

I'm currently back in braids mostly so I won't have to mess with it too much...waaaay too hot for that.

Funny, I was just thinking about this today. My goal length is waist length with straight hair. I think once I reach that goal, I will be cutting my hair to a few inches below bra strap and keep it there. Waist length seems too much to maintain on an ongoing basis. But we'll see what happens once I reach that length!

Hair love , I really enjoyed viewing your album. Your hair is very long & very pretty. You're transitioning... I'm thinking of doing the same... You're really inspiring me kiddo

Prior to having a regime, shoulder length has always been my maintenance length. Whenever it grew to bs, i'd cut it right by to my shoulders. Lacking knowledge about proper hair care was my main reason for this.

Now that i have a regime, i haven't found my maintenance length as of yet. I'm thinking that waist length would be it... or maybe tailbone if i can grow that much... but anything more than that would be waaaaay too much hair for me.
