Macherie's Blowin' in the Wind Challenge - No Heat for 4 Months!

Has anyone found it difficult to resist heat especially as a stretcher? or have you just forgot all about heat now that you've been into the journey for some time.

For me, its been 54 days with no heat and still counting. There were moments of :wallbash: and after awhile into the challenge it has been more of  , I like the fact I am limiting heat...I now know that severe stretching isn't for me although i have one more week b4 relaxer and i'm so excited and anxious and Yes, i will post pics.

Hope all is doing well on the challenge. :yep:

I did. Then I discovered the glory of BRAID OUTS!

BTW! You're siggy pic is adorable! Your hair looks so beautiful!
Yay! I'm glad your relaxer came out good! :yep:

I still have my two passes and I don't think I will use one of them this weekend like I planned. My braidouts have been so nice looking, I think I will wear that to the bridal shower instead and not worry about using a pass or straightening 3 month post NG...:lachen:

Hi: Just checking in. Ive been doing braid outs for most of the summer. I love summer;) Ill be so sad when it get cold! Here are some pics :)

I'm still holding on to my passes. I am seven weeks post and my ng is starting to get out of hand. I had to switch things up from a braid out to a wrap to a twist out. I think I like my braid out better. I can tell I am getting good healthy growth and my hair is much smoother than when I was using more heat. My ends aren't even frizzy, even in the humidity.

I'd love to get on the list but I'm doing no heat right now and it ain't working out for the kid. :nono: My hair is seriously rebelling. :wallbash:

I'll pass.

What a gorgeous braidout Prettyface! I love the new avi too :yep:

Yes, it is so pretty and healthy and shiny. I have hair-envy.

Y'all, I think I may have to use a pass between now and when I relax this weekend. I was messing in my newgrowth last night and it was just tangled, I tried to detangle with my fingers and it was snapping and popping all over the place. It hurt so bad my eyes watered. I may have to blow out the roots a bit so I don't cause more damage than good by having such a prominent demarcation line.

Girrll....I have ONE pass left:lachen::lachen:

Both for heavy treatments. My first henna/indigo treatment and my last relaxer. I needed the heat and it was good. No direct heat though. I used my hooded dryer for heat.

I wont be doing any other heavy treatments this summer so I'll be good through July and most of August.

Dont damage your hair because you dont want to use heat. Use a pass thats what they are there for.

My First Braidout. I loved it!

macherie and prettyface...your braidouts are SO pretty! This is my fave summer style...so easy....

Just checkin' in. Nothing new here... I haven't used any passes yet. I've been doing my same old wash n go.

I Love this challenge and I love summer. When else can you wash your hair and leave home with it wet and feel so good!!

Um... so I definitely forgot to post my reggie when I started this challenge. My bad. I'm co-washing three times a week (for the co-wash challenge), D/C'ing once a week (for deep conditioning challenge), Creme of Nature Shampoo very rarely and wearing my hair in wash-n-gos, wet buns, or clipping wet hair up some other way using one of my many hair decorations.

Ok I'm out of the woods as far as fighting the urge to straighten. I've re-fallen in love with my no heat WNG hair :drunk: Lets hope this feeling lasts another 2 months.

I used my first heat pass today. I blew out my roots a little. The newgrowth was getting out of control and my scalp was hurting. I co-washed last night and my hair was so much thicker and healthy looking when I blew it out today. I wrapped it back up to preserve the smoothness. Since I'm not going anywhere, I may leave it wrapped up til tomorrow.

still going STRONG in no heat :yep:

conditioner/oil wash with olive, castor, grapeseed oils, a dash of SAA mixed with cholesterol. Braided in 2 plaits, tied down with "satin" scarf, walked to work and let airdry for approx 2 hours. (i work the graveyard shift, so no one is there and I can get away with this ).

bumped bang under with curling iron (the bang is the ONLY part of my hair that gets heat), unraveled braids, viola!

the back.
When I unravel my braids, i never comb my hair, that's why yuo see my part :/

You're hair is CRAZY :spinning:! Just beautiful.
