so... i have to wait 5 years to reach that hair goal? Our very own Bublnbrownsuga had some amazing hair like that. I feel like LHDC2011's hair was "heat trained" so it looks longer when it's blown out. Bubln's hair retained a grainy look to it when straight. I love both their hair.

Any know how old LHDC2011 is? I'm just really curious how she's able to maintain wearing braids 6 months a year for 7 years! Is she a student? does she wear her hair in braids to work?

I know some of you are detectives, so hopefully someone can answer

/\ She's here in NY and she's a dental student. But truthfully we don't have constraints on how we can wear our natural hair in the New York corporate world.....I have literally gone to work in my firm with the afro you see at the right of my siggy and recieved nothing but compliments and encouragement from colleagues and upper management.....natural hair is widely accepted and embraced so its a different animal up here. We're known as one of the natural mecca's lol

^^^well said BMP..I am in my 30s. I've worked for a major communications company for 14 years! Black women and men rock everything from cornrows, to locs to TWAs..Its 2010. It bewilders me people think blacks aren't allowed to wear "ethnic" styles to work.

/\ She keeps them in for a month - 5 weeks then she takes them down to get it redone by her braider.

I started doing month long PS styles and its been awesome soooo easy going!
