I went to see my therapist today...and hell no, I'm not crazy.
Anyhoo, I missed last month so I had not seen her for a full month. I noted today that her hair was at least two to three inches longer!
Of course, I inquired.
Since August she said that she had been seeing a dermatologist (sp). She told her that she was having difficulty growing her hair and that it was falling out.
Let me back up. Prior to today, her hair was a little past neck length and slightly damaged.
She said that she is given shots! I forgot how many she said she had to take initially, but now I think its once a month and it is only about $15 per visit.
The shot consists of amino acids and omega 3's in its purest form. She gave me the name and the phone number, I am going to have a consultation.
Ladies the difference in her hair is DRAMATIC!. Her hair looks think and luxurous. Shiny black and moist, when at first it was dry and fragile.

Interesting! What is a little past length? :ohwell:

Yikes.. two of my aunts are having those shots injected too! They were both balding though. Sounds a little radical to me if you're not balding, but I'm just afraid of needles!

Well she wasn't balding.
Im taking amino acids and omega 3's anyways so I
really don't see the difference, with the exception of
getting the amino acids and omega 3's into my system quicker. I am sure that the doctor is not going to let
me do something that would be unsafe. I am just going for the consultation we will see what comes up after that.

After all it cannot be any worse than getting a shot to prevent pregnancy. Its just a vitamin shot.

Keep us posted. I don't think I will go that far to get shots but I'd like to know all what's in them. Pick the doctors brain and find out every little detail you can, ingredients, dosage, all of that then report back to us. :ninja:

Certainly. It wont be until after New Years, I am sure docs are booked anyway. Def. in January.

wow
thanks for sharing!

i think i'll just keep taking my omega 3 capsules though....

what happens when she stops getting the shots? does it all fall out?

those shots will not change her old hair. shorty had a track up in there.

 ok you made me spit coffee. lol

This made me think of my nephew. He's crazy as hell.... He will see a girl then give me a look in a minute and say "shawty got sum tracks in thurr". :lachen:

Not that I don't believe you or her...

Even if it is really what she said it is, I doubt getting a once a month shot of aminos and EFA's is really going to help... The human body can only process so much nutrients at a time. I doubt that you would get a month's worth or even a week's worth into one shot anyway. Just doesn't seem like a good delivery system.

Maybe there were other changes also. :yep:

No it doesn't stop growing. I did not ask anything after that. Will find out.

I will find out what makes getting it once a month worth while. Maybe there is more to it than I know.

Oh you definitely can. I have a medical condition which required me to have vitamin B shots and once in a while electrolyte drips.... the effects are immediate.

Also our hair is the first thing to show signs of changes in the body because the follicles are being renewed daily. Which is why when somebody undergoes chemo they start to loose their hair almost straight away.

Dr. Oz talked about this oh Oprah.. it was really interesting. He said that whenever there is a drastic change to the human body (chemo, sickness etc) the effects will show up in our hair within four days.

I don't know how possible 3 inches in a month is but I definitely believe that it made a big difference esp if the lady was deficient in those nutrients.

Really though, injections are a great delivery system for nutrients with high absorbtion

its like you can take b-12 all day, and it be all in your blood stream but not be absorbing into your tissues, so they give you b-12 shots

although I really dont think they are going to do it unless your hair is falling out or your balding, they wont do it just because-I dont think :ohwell:

I don't really know all I saw was hair and I never saw that on her before. I saw her last in October and did not see her until December. She had a lot of hair (as compared to the last time I saw her) on her head. I ask her if she know how many inches her hair has grown.

Yep report back with what the DOCTOR said. I am hoping to hear some great news. Especially since we are paying these folks fo healthcare out of the ........... you know. I haven't been to the doctor in like 2 months, but my insurance company got their money just in case...

If there are some hair growing shots I want to know about them asap. lol

I don't believe that. There would be a lot more bald people running around if that were the case. I was pretty much 2 days away from death earlier this year, but my hair looked great  Chemo I am more prone to believe because it's a known fact that it kills any cells that multiply quickly... including those that produce hair.

I didn't say that it has no affect, but for this use, I don't see how it would work with just a once a month injection. Even if it is absorbed, you need a constant, daily supply of the aminos and EFA's to make a difference in your hair. One injection may last for more than one day for all I know, but it's not lasting for a month.

My point is, hair doesn't grow an inch in a day... you need a constant supply of hair building materials. It's not something you can do in one swift shot. Like just because you eat 10 pounds of chicken in one day, your hair is not going to grow fast just because you have a lot of protein in your system for that day. If you eat lots of protein for a period of time, then you'd more likely see a difference.

Then again I'm not a doctor or even particularly smart (lol)... feel free to disagree :)

 I couldn't do it *shudders*

I just did a search on amnio acid injections.... They are quite a few different types out there. Travasol is a popular one and apparently it enhances the conservation of body protein. Interesting.

I guess the question would be is if EFA's and Amino's can store themselves

She started taking them in August and I did not notice anything. I missed my November appointment so and noticed the growth in December. She said that it took about 3 months for people to start noticing.
