List your best \"slip\" conditioners for 4a/b

This post is a continuation of the thread on Lust not giving me and other ladies the slip we expected. Since everyones hair is different. Let's post what works to give you a slip.

1. OFFCOURSE Creme of Nature ultra moiturizing shampoo
2. Motions Moisture Plus
3. Lustersilk Cholestrol w/ aloe (really gives me a slip)
3. Tresemme 4 + 4 mango sealant (not a deep conditoner)

All these conditioners work best for me when I leave it on for at least 10 minutes min. and detangle while rinsing the conditioner off w/ the exception of the mango sealant because it's an instant conditioner and it works best if I put it on, massage, and rinse while detangling within 2-3 minutes.

Hair Type 4a/b

1. Biolage leave in tonic
2. Clairol Renewal 5X conditioner for dry/damaged hair + high heat under bonnet for an hour

Re: List your best \"slip\" conditioners for 4a/b

hrm...I was told not to use creme of nature shampoo because of the build up. I use Kenra moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. She's been using it for a while on my hair because it does great. She also clarifies with Kenra, but I have Pantene Calrifying shampoo. She told me clarify everytime I wash as long as I follow up with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I think she uses keracare for itchy scalp also. I use Iso bouncy cream which gives good slip. I cant forget Pantene smooth and sleek. There is also Elasta QP Intense, this works. I like to do a 2 hour deep conditioning with that and a plastic bag. I have thick hair, so i put over the normal amount that most people put in their hair and leave it on for a few minutes longer.

My suggestion is keep things simple and find you a pure silk shirt at the salvation army and wrap that around your head at night with a satin cap over it. This has helped my very coarse 4a/4b relaxed hair tremendously. I can even sweat 5x a week because I do conditioner washes on wednesdays and give my hair the works on the weekends.

I'm 4a and these are my favorites:

Motions Moisture Plus (I love it! I bought a big tub for $9.99 and I have no complaints about this conditioner)

Keracare Humecto (my hairdresser uses this on my hair but I haven't purhcased any yet. It makes my hair very soft and easy to detangle)

Queen Helene Cholesterol (This is the old stand-by. I've been using it for years and it really moisturizes my hair.)

LeKair Cholesterol (I love this conditioner. It's nice and thick and makes my hair very soft and gives it a good "slip.")

Pantene Relaxed and Natural (I used this once when I received a sample packet and I really liked it. It was thick and left my hair soft and manageable. I may purhcase a bottle.)

Also, I didn't know we were talking about shampoos too but I also like Cream of Nature's Moisturizing Conditioning Shampoo. Some people talk about it leaving a build up but I've never had that problem.

Ditto on the Motions Moisture Plus ( I love this conditioner!, the shampoo is great too)and LeKair Cholesterol (the peach colored one).

Suave:
The coconut and the vanilla conditioners: Great Slip!

Re: List your best \"slip\" conditioners for 4a/b

Salerm Wheat germ Deep conditioner - 30-45 min with heat gives very good slip and I found that the slip is enhanced and detangling even easier when I follow it with Salerm 21 Silk protein leave- in.

10 en 1 conditioner gave me a decent amount of slip....not as much as I was expecting though. But when I followed it up with Nacidit Olive Oil Rinse on my hair for about 5 minutes, the slip was much better. THe rinse also gave my hair a shine.

Keracare Humecto Conditioner is also very good but I've found the amount of slip sometimes decreases as the time from my last relaxer touch-up increases.

Re: List your best \"slip\" conditioners for 4a/b

Biolage leave in
Jason's biotin conditioner
Affirm 5 in 1
Keracare humecto - only the first few weeks post-relaxer

Re: List your best \"slip\" conditioners for 4a/b

My beloved Aussie Slip Detangler. It's the only thing that gives me great slip.

Regarding the Lustraskilk with Aloe Detangling Formula, I think that gave me negative slip.

Re: List your best \"slip\" conditioners for 4a/b

Ditto SoniT, those old tried and true Cholesterol Conditioners are great! Especially when used with a plastic cap under the dryer! I see so many of us, myself included, who go on a rampage buying all these expensive products, when we really don't have to! Sometimes it's the old tried and true products that have been around forever that when used correctly, they can work wonders on our hair!! Like the Sta-Sof-Fro. I bet even that old blueish/green UltraSheen hair grease is good -ONLY ON ENDS with the ends tucked away in a protective style! But years ago when we were greasing our scalps with it - we were using it wrong, but we didn't know any better! That grease on our scalp only clogged our pores and slowed our growth, but now that we're more Healthy Hair educated, we know how to use products better! Just my two cents. Have you guys figured out that I'm rather soulful yet???
