LHCF Sorority, what\'s our sign??

Hi Ladies,

I'm at working sneaking to type this but I couldn't take it anymore, lol!!

Did we all decide on a sign (hand signal I think it was) that we were going to use to find out if a person was a LHCF affiliate?

I thought of this when I read Supergirl's post on her fellow sorrors, and how the Delta's, Gammas, etc all have their signs and sounds.

Okay, YES I think to much but you don't understand. At least in the Bay Area, every time I see a woman with a drawstring I'm curious like "Do you LHCF?" hmm...maybe we can ask that.

Anyway, I would be cute, lol!! Did we ever come up with a code?

Lol, yes it would be cute... and it could work. I have seen a few women with some very moisturized looking buns and have wondered. In fact there is a girl in my school who walks around like me, EVERY SINGLE DAY with a bun, a very neat moisturized one at that, never wearing her hair out. Yes I know that there are millions of women who wear their hair up every day, but there is always something unexplainable when you suspect an LHCF memeber. I chicken out everytime I think about asking her.

Our sign could be us smoothing our hand down the length of our hair

Picture the scene. You're out grocery shopping, you look very nice and sophisticated. You spot a woman at the check-out counter, she is wearing a bun, and in her cart she has some VO5 Strawberries and Cream Conditioner, but no shampoo...hmmm, you wonder, could this be an LHCF member?

Then you walk up to her (being the perfect lady that we are) and go "L-H-C-F" Stomp three times like a Q Dawg and them flip your hand up by your shoulder. And in case you haven't heard the way Q-dawgs announce themselves, think of saying "West S-i-i-i-i-d-e" and then say LHCF with the same inflection.

I'm crazy.... I know.

I'm thinking of going up to someone and saying "Excuse me, do you LHCF?" If they say no, I'll just say it's a university and I thought she went there (?) LOL!!

Yes, I like Supergirl's idea. Very subtle!! If they're an LHCFer, they'll know and give it back! If not, they'll just think we're smoothing our hair and not know the difference! Great!

or........

And is there a way we'd do it specificly so we know it's one of "us" instead of just some woman smoothing some fly aways and I run up to her and yell S-CUUUUURL!

How about like, 3 smoothing actions...i don't know...like once on the right, once on the left, one down the middle...all with the right hand...

And then if they mirror it, flash the "L" just to make sure?

Yes, I agree I like Supergirl's idea...I think it's very subtle and chic...great idea SG....I can see me now in the department store standing in line next to another sista' and wonder.. hmmm could should be LHCF, and I would just give a secret hand slide to the back of my hair.... and then I would know.

The hair smoothing is too subtle for me. I probably wouldn't notice. We need to design an lhcf ring.

I think the S-Cuuurl shouting should be saved until it has been confirmed that the suspected is, indeed, a member.

I like the idea of a sign. We had talked about a pin at one time. What ever happened with that?
